Police Will Bring the Heat With Labor Day Weekend DUI Checkpoints During the long, hot holiday weekend police will be on the lookout for drunk drivers. Here's a list of checkpoints.

LAPD& Sheriff's Checkpoints for this Holiday Weekend.

-Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight the LAPD will be running a checkpoint at Central Avenue and 81st Street in South L.A.

-Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight another checkpoint at Manchester and Denver avenues in South Los Angeles.

-Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. an LAPD checkpoint at Woodman Avenue and Osborne Street in panoramic Panorama City.

-Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. sheriff's deputies will be operating a checkpoint somewhere in Lancaster (they're not saying exactly where).

-Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight deputies will be doing checkpoint duty somewhere in Norwalk (they're not saying exactly where).

-Saturday other checkpoints and saturation patrols are scheduled for Arcadia (7 p.m. to 3 a.m.), La Verne (7 p.m. to 2 a.m.), Long Beach, the South Bay area, Gardena (8 p.m. to 4 a.m.), Montebello, Torrance, Whittier (8 p.m. to 4 a.m.), and Bellflower.

-Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. the LAPD will have extra patrol cars and motorcycles on the streets of the LAPD's Hollenbeck Division area, which includes the Eastside and Northeast L.A. Police call this a "saturation patrol."

-Sunday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. another saturation patrol will happen, this time in the LAPD's North Hollywood Division area.

-Sunday other patrols will hit El Monte and Redondo Beach (from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.).

- DUI checkpoint at Roscoe Boulevard and Gloria Avenue in North Hills from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- DUI checkpoint at Figueroa Street and 9th Street in downtown from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Saturday, August 30:
- DUI checkpoint at Avalon Boulevard and Opp Street in Wilmington from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- DUI checkpoint at Sunset Boulevard and Laveta Terrace in Echo Park from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- DUI checkpoint at Sherman Way and Yolanda Avenue in Reseda from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- DUI checkpoint at Olympic Boulevard and Blaine Street in Pico-Union from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Sunday, August 31:
- saturation patrol in the Harbor Area from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
