Want to be more popular or more successful in work or dating? Being warm, polite and friendly is not enough. Research shows that the path to being liked after a first encounter (leading to more positive long term interpersonal success) includes not only being polite and friendly (agentic behaviors), but being confident, and showing leadership (communal behaviors).
A fascinating study has uncovered key predictors of being liked in first encounters A study in Germany found that individuals who exhibit both agentic and communal behaviors during first encounters are more likely to become popular. Conversely, those displaying high communal behaviors, but not agentic, are often favored by specific individuals.
Pay attention to the time your children spent on media. Excessive screen time linked to lower cognitive functioning.
'Concerning': Excessive Screen Time Linked to Lower Cognitive Function Screens have become seamlessly integrated into our daily lives, serving as indispensable tools for work, education and leisure.

Rules by Charlie Chaplin
1. As I began to love myself I was able to see that emotional pain and suffering are just warning signs - that I am not living in accordance with my own truth. Today I know that this harmony is called being authentic.
2. As I began to love myself, I understood how much it can affect a person when I try to force my desires on them, even though I actually know that the time is not right and that the person is not ready - and this also applies if I am that person myself. Today I call that respect.
3. When I started loving myself, I stopped longing for another life. Now I can see that everything around me is an invitation to grow. Today I know that this prepares the ground for maturity.
4. As I began to love myself, I understood that I am in the right place at the right time for every opportunity and that everything happens at the right time. From then on I could be calm. Now I know that is trust.
5. As I began to love myself, I stopped depriving myself of my free time. I've also stopped designing grandiose projects for the future. Today I only do what I enjoy and enjoy, what I love and what makes my heart smile - in my own way and at my own pace. Today that means simplicity for me.
6. As I began to love myself, I freed myself of anything that is not healthy for me, food, people, things, situations and anything that pulls me down or pulls me away from myself. At first I called this attitude a “healthy egoism”. Today I know that this is self-love.
7. As I began to love myself, I stopped always wanting to be right; since then I have been less wrong. Today I know that's what modesty means.
8. As I began to love myself, I refused to continue living in the past and worrying about my future. Now I only live in this moment where EVERYTHING is happening. This is how I live every day today, and that means a fulfilling life for me.
9. As I began to love myself, I realized that my thinking can upset, trouble, and sicken me. But since it has connected to my heart and submitted to it, my mind has been a valuable helper. This connection is – as I know today – wisdom of the heart.
10. We no longer need to fear arguments, conflicts and problems with ourselves and others, for even stars sometimes collide and new worlds are born. Today I know: "This is life !"
