Gorgeous Invisalign Results!

Properly fitting bites are crucial for several reasons. Firstly, a well-fitted bite ensures that the teeth align correctly, preventing issues such as misalignment and discomfort. Additionally, a proper bite helps distribute the force of chewing evenly across all teeth, reducing the risk of wear and tear on specific areas. Moreover, a correctly fitting bite can improve overall oral health by minimizing the chances of developing conditions like jaw pain or TMJ disorders. In conclusion, ensuring that your bite fits properly is essential for maintaining optimal dental health and preventing potential oral health problems in the future.

Invisalign is a popular orthodontic treatment that helps straighten teeth without the use of traditional braces. It consists of clear aligners that are custom-made for each individual to gradually shift their teeth into the desired position. If you are considering Invisalign, schedule a consultation to see if it is the right option for you.

Phase 1 complete!!!

04/24/2024

Congrats on finishing Phase 1!!!

Making space for teeth in phase one of orthodontic treatment is crucial for correcting the bite early on. By creating room for teeth to come in properly, it sets the foundation for a healthy and aligned smile. This early intervention can prevent more serious issues down the road and make the overall orthodontic process smoother and more effective. It is important to address any overcrowding or misalignment early on to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient's oral health.

Do any of these look familiar to you? We can help! We invite you to give us a call to schedule a free consultation.

Crowding refers to the condition where there is insufficient space in the mouth for all the teeth to properly align. This can result in overlapping or twisted teeth, making it difficult to maintain proper oral hygiene.

Excessive spacing, on the other hand, is characterized by gaps or spaces between teeth. It can be caused by various factors, such as missing teeth, small teeth, or abnormal growth of the jawbone.

Crossbite is a dental condition where the upper teeth are positioned inside the lower teeth when the jaws are closed. This misalignment can affect both the front and back teeth and may cause problems with chewing and speaking.

Open bite is a condition where the upper and lower teeth do not make contact when the jaws are closed. This can result in difficulty biting or chewing food properly and may also affect speech.

Overbite refers to the vertical overlap of the upper front teeth over the lower front teeth. In severe cases, it can lead to problems such as excessive wear of the teeth, jaw pain, and even temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ).

Underbite, on the other hand, is the opposite of overbite. It occurs when the lower front teeth protrude beyond the upper front teeth. This misalignment can cause difficulty in biting and chewing, as well as aesthetic concerns.

Overjet is a condition where the upper front teeth protrude significantly beyond the lower front teeth horizontally. It can be caused by a variety of factors, such as genetics, thumb sucking, or tongue thrusting. Overjet can lead to an increased risk of dental trauma and may also affect speech.

Abnormal eruption refers to the improper or irregular eruption of teeth. This can include delayed eruption, where teeth take longer than usual to emerge, or ectopic eruption, where teeth emerge in abnormal positions. Abnormal eruption can cause problems with tooth alignment and may require orthodontic intervention.

It is important to consult with a dental professional if you have any concerns or issues related to crowding, excessive spacing, crossbite, open bite, overbite, underbite, overjet, or abnormal eruption. They can provide a comprehensive evaluation and recommend appropriate treatment options to address these dental conditions.
