HPV testing is efficient, objective, and scalable, and it is therefore the global gold standard for cervical cancer prevention. It is the most accurate and effective tool we have to identify women with the highest risk of dying from cervical cancer.    Women can easily collect their own self-sample for HPV testing using a vaginal swab. Approximately 20% of women will test positive for high-risk HPV types, and only those women will need further screening and treatment. This allows often limited screening and treatment resources to be focused only on the women who have the highest risk of developing cervical cancer. 💥💥💥
