The DASH (Dangerously Awesome Scavenger Hunt) is a 3-hour race where college students compete to win money for themselves and and for charities.
So Just What is The DASH? The DASH is the greatest competition in the history of humankind. It's a clean, 3-hour race where students compete to win money for themselves and for charities by accomplishing physical feats, ridiculous tasks, and just plain hilarious challenges. Each team must consist of 5 students. The fee is $15 per person ($75 per team). The individual team at each school that compi
les the most points wins $1,000 to be split among its members AND $1000 will be donated by DASH Events to the team's favorite charity. At exactly 2pm on event day, a Snapchat message will be sent out by DASH HQ to all teams with the first 24 action items to complete in order to earn points - 6 action items in one of four categories: Daring, Adventurous, Sticky, Hilarious. For each group of 6 action items, two are rated easy, two medium, and two difficult. Each skill level corresponds to a certain level of points. If this makes no sense, donβt sweat it - all will become clear on event day. Each team will document the completion of an action item by taking a Snapchat video and adding it to its ongoing Snapchat Story, which will be seen by DASH HQ and tallied in real time during the event. The DASH will start at 2pm and run until approximately 5pm.
24 hours before the starting time each team will receive a Snapchat request from that team's "Tally Person" or "TP." This amazing genius will be the one watching your team's Snapchat Story and keeping track of your points. Please accept the request and then do not reach out to the TP, as he/she/robot zombie will be concentrating on getting things right.. All communication during The DASH will come directly from DASH HQ via Snapchat. NOTE: Each player on the team will get an email with the liability waiver that she/he will have to sign electronically. There will be some minor expenses a team can expect to spend on certain action items. We estimate no more than $20 will be spent by each team, but it can vary depending on which action items a team chooses to do and where it gets its supplies. A car is not required for teams to participate, but it may be very helpful. After the final tally is completed, the results will be sent via Snapchat at noon on the day after the event. We will then contact the winners and arrange the sending of the award checks. Click on one of the event pages to register. Now go kick ass. The DASH was created by independent college counselor and all-around heckuva guy Danny Ruderman who came up with the idea after talking to many of his former students. Danny is the author of the bestselling book, The Ultimate College Acceptance System (St. Martin's Press) and has created college-counseling programs used by non-profit organizations and Fortune 500 companies, including Warner Bros. He holds a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University and has mad Frisbee golf skills.
