Iron Tree Service® is a full-service tree pruning and removal company operating on the North Shore, MetroWest, and Greater Metropolitan area. We are currently looking for a PAYROLL & BENEFITS SPECIALIST for our Beverly office.

Our ideal candidate is a team player with 2+ years of comprehensive payroll or accounting experience. This position will serve as the go-between for Iron Tree Service and any payroll, health insurance providers, 401(k) providers, or other HR-centric contacts, as well as the day-to-day contact person for Iron Tree Service staff. Thorough knowledge of HR best practices, state and federal payroll requirements, basic accounting skills, benefits processing, and the ability to work with various benefit providers are strongly preferred. If you possess a keen attention to detail, function well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and are willing to grow with us, we want to hear from you!

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Ensure time capture is complete and accurate for payroll processing
• Process payroll changes and verify accurate benefits deductions
• Verify all Prevailing Wage hours have been accurately captured and accounted for
• Assist new hires with onboarding paperwork
• Gather and file all necessary documents
• Verify starting pay rates
• Maintain all employee files, payroll, tax forms, benefit information, and company policies and training manuals
• Verify and, when applicable, correct internal numbers and reports run by various departments, ensuring accuracy and inclusion
• Build a thorough knowledge of reporting procedures across various internal systems, as well as ensuring we have the reports and capabilities to generate the necessary information to support decision making.

Our ideal candidate possesses:

• A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting or another finance-related field (required)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (required)
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software (required)
• Experience with other Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Access
• Knowledge of how to independently correct and troubleshoot basic computer glitches
• Solid understanding of accounting objectives
• Full time availability

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Invoice processing
• Accounts payable
• Operation of office equipment
• Assisting the rest of our accounting staff as needed
• Other accounting-related duties as assigned

About Us: Iron Tree Service® is a full-service tree pruning and removal company operating on the North Shore, MetroWest, and Greater Metropolitan area. We are currently looking for a SHOP ASSISTANT who will report directly to the Shop Manager at our Beverly location. This is a part-time position that could become full-time for the right candidate. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assisting the Shop Manager with cleaning and organizing the auto shop
• Inventory tracking
• Regular equipment maintenance
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and lifting

Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who possesses a keen attention to detail, the ability to “own” a project without someone constantly looking over their shoulder, and a desire to always be learning and growing in their career.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record. Must be able to lift items in excess of 50-100 lbs. Please attach your resume and/or any applicable work experience.
