One Minute Relaxation Texhnique
I use this one-minute technique to help soften the edges when I get triggered.
The first type of trigger: External. Anyone or anything that is getting on my nerves. Although at the moment, it feels good to get all honoree and self-righteous, 99% of the time, I regret going there. I wish I hadn’t. 🤦♀️
The second type of trigger: Internal dialogue. Yikes! This is a no-win sparring session but we do it anyway.
You know those times when you make a mistake, or are having a fat day, or not sure how you feel about someone or something, or even worse, when you’re feeling rejected, unloved or unlovable?
Man, what we say to ourselves then is just plain mean. I regret going there too. It’s ugly.😞🤫
Like any kind of physical training, the more you do the better you get at it, and the better you feel. It’s like a mental fitness training. It doesn’t EVEN have to be a whole minute. Just do it often.
This technique is three rolled into one. .
1. Point of Focus (eye gaze) .
2. Jaw Drop (Great for jaw-clenchers and TMJ.)
3. Mindful Breathing (The juggernaut of all relaxation techniques.) Hope it helps, even a lil’ 🤗💕
