Early bird gets the this morning. ๐คฉ
Some of the coolest views on the water are storms and rain moving over Mississippi Sound.
The first Silent Cruise was amazing, and we are so happy to invite you along with us again! We have 2 spots left for Thursday evening.
If you have felt overwhelmed by the noise of the world lately and are craving a reconnection to reality, come discover what practical breathwork and dedicated time in nature can do for you.
The channel is yours, captain! Big fish in a little bay heading upstream... This convoy has minimal maneuverability and cannot stop abruptly, so away we stay in our little pontoon boat. ๐๐
Oh, summerโฆ we will miss you in the winter, but right now itโs like a perpetual fever ๐ฅต Remember plenty of water โ salt โ shade โ if you are playing outside this afternoon.
Thank you, Bill Snyder and WLOX-TV, for sharing a dolphin-filled Tuesday morning boat ride with Captain Lacey and nerding out about the geography, ecology, and history of Deer Island. Thatโs what we love to do all day with folks! Thereโs always something else to learn about the great importance of the Mississippi Sound. Until next time! ๐ค๐ค
Biloxi Boat Tours getting ready for summer season Biloxi Boat Tours has been running cruises out of Point Cadet Marina and giving locals and visitors an up-close look at Deer Island and the Mississippi Sound.
Free Saltwater Sport Fishing Day is July 4th! You can fish south of I-10 without a license for a day. If you haven't explored the skill of fishing, this is a great opportunity to grab a friend, grab some gear and bait, and try something new!
The first weekend of National Fishing and Boating Week in June of each year is designated as Free Fishing Weekend. On June 1 and 2, our agency would like anglers to know that any person may fish without a sport fishing license in all public waters in Mississippi during Free Fishing Weekend.
In addition, July 4 of each year is designated as Free Saltwater Sport Fishing Day on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Any person may saltwater sport fish without a recreational saltwater fishing license on July 4 in the marine waters of Mississippi (waters south of Interstate 10).
Although anglers are not required to have a recreational saltwater license for Free Fishing Weekend and Free Saltwater Sport Fishing Day, they still need to adhere to all size and possession limits.
To view current size and possession limits, visit dmr.ms.gov/recreational-catch-limits.

Caught some photos of the storm coming across the bay from OS into Point Cadet as the wind really kicked up. Breeze-less mornings and stormy afternoons! Now it feels like a Mississippi summer!
Windy Wednesday. The wind was gusting over 30kt earlier this week pushing water inland for several days. With the full moon already lining up for higher tide, the water went several inches over the docks at Point Cadet.
Shrimp season is on! The smaller boats head out around sunset and will fish overnight near the barrier islands. Their navigation lights dot the horizon.
Our local shrimp industry is shrinking quickly. Every year Mississippi Department of Marine Resources gets fewer requests for permits. There are many reasons... strong competition from cheaper imported seafood, aging boats and captains, rising maintenance and diesel costs, environmental conditions affecting shrimp populations...
As history always goes, traditions and ways of life change. But these fisherman are still around for now. Grab yourself a cooler full of fresh gulf shrimp when they return to the docks in the morning!

We have a couple seats left for this special excursion Tuesday evening.

Big moon, big tides, big heat... summer is near. Catch the last of spring rising over Biloxi tonight. She should be creeping up beautiful and bright about 925pm to the east! ๐๐๐คฉ
Right place, right time! Captain Lacey and some very cool guests were treated to a dolphin sighting and spectacular colors in the sky yesterday afternoon. What a great boat ride!
Leave the marine storm chasing to the Hurricane Hunters! โก๏ธ
Summer on the means afternoon storms. Watch the sky and don't ignore sudden changes in wind and temperature. Know what your boat and crew can handle before you leave the dock.
Responsible captains aren't afraid to make the unpopular calls like when it's time to stay put and when it's time to get the heck outta there with time to spare. ๐ช
Garrrrr, matey! Did you know gar come up for air sometimes? And they are edible? Thanks, Wikipedia. If there's one thing you can be sure of besides many other things, it's finding interesting things on . Fair winds, fishy. ๐ซก
When your new iPhone plummets into the dark depths of the ... So how gnarly are the catfish down there?? ๐
We see a few times a year on the docks but not often in daylight. This one made it down safely and scurried away. โ๏ธ
