On Monday, Governor Tate Reeves signed a bill that will allow a Mississippi citizen to seek the care of a physical therapist without a physician referral. This bill will go into effect on July 1, 2024.

-- Minimum BS degree from an accredited college or university
-- NATA Certification
-- BOC certified
-- State of MS Athletic Trainer licensure or able to obtain MS licensure within 60 days
-- ECC certified
-- Valid driver's license
-- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification

•Job Description:
-- Position includes athletic training services to Biloxi High School and 8-12 clinical hours per week in our outpatient physical therapy clinic. Primary responsibility is with the school.
-- Must be able to perform the duties as described in the NATA guidelines of the 5 domains of an Athletic Trainer: Injury/illness prevention and wellness protection, Clinical evaluation and diagnosis, Immediate and emergency care, Treatment and rehabilitation, and Organizational and professional health and well-being.
-- Must be able to assist with and transfer athletes of various heights/weights.
-- Must be able to push carts with athletic equipment in excess of 100 #.
-- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances.
-- Must be able to work in changing environments (temperatures, inside/outside, day/night).
-- Must be able to deal with stressful situations (athletes, parents, coaches, injury/illness).
-- Must be able to operate iPhone and computer and input data for notes/treatments.
-- Must be able to operate independently as well as in a team setting.
-- Must be able to travel with teams for medical coverage when needed.
