We kicked off Super Bowl weekend on Friday with our annual Jersey and Tailgate day! No Chiefs or 49ers jerseys in sight, but we still took the opportunity to enjoy some tailgate specialties. Our big winners included Pulled Pork Sliders and Brown butter toffee cookies! YUM!

We had a great time this past weekend at our annual Holiday Party at Traditions At The Glen! We also celebrated the retirement of long time partner, Alan Piaker. We wrapped up the fall volleyball Monday night league at the YMCA last week! It's great to have a chance to get a little exercise and do something other than accounting with our coworkers. A big thanks to the YMCA for putting on a great league and letting us non-competitive volleyball players have some fun!

Last week we had our annual Ken Makowski golf tournament, this year it was held at Links At Hiawatha. This is an awesome event that we do in honor of a late employee, Ken Makowski, and we try to keep his spirit alive by kicking back to have some fun in the sun on the golf course once a year. Congratulations to Kyle, Brynn, Brittany and Paul for winning this year, we will all make sure to stop by the plaque once your names are on it!!

Thanks for all who participated and make this event possible!! Only about 350 days left for all of us to significantly improve our golf games for next time!

April 15th and National Donut Day are some of our favorite days of the year around here! (Although we might be known to celebrate donuts on more of a weekly, not annual basis! 🤫)

What a great way to say goodbye to busy season - until next year that is!

After making it through the first major tax deadline, some of us decided to celebrate with a bowling night out, courtesy of the morale committee! If you zoom in on the scoreboard you’ll see why we all decided to stick with our day jobs and returned to the office today!

ERIC J. ROUSE, CPA joined the Firm in 2015. Mr. Rouse earned a Master of Science in Accounting from Binghamton University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from State University of New York College at Brockport. Mr. Rouse advises organizations on various tax, accounting, and general business matters. Mr. Rouse’s specialties include taxation of closely held businesses and individuals, multi-state taxation, and accounting, auditing, and financial reporting for entities in a variety of industries including real estate enterprises, hospitality establishments, construction contractors, and non-profit organizations. He is a member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs. Mr. Rouse resides in Endwell, New York with his wife.

Eric was promoted to partner as of January 1st, 2023. Congratulations Eric!!

KATIE M. KIRK, CPA joined the Firm in 2016. Katie earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting at Binghamton University. She advises organizations on various tax, accounting, auditing, and general business matters. Katie’s specialties include taxation of closely held businesses and individuals, multi-state personal and corporate taxation, and accounting, auditing, and financial reporting for real estate investors as well as other various industries. She is a member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs. She is also the current treasurer of the Southern Tier Chapter of the NYSSCPAs. Katie was promoted to partner of the firm January 1, 2023. Congratulations Katie!!

Allison E. Gunther, CPA joined the Firm in 2015 and was admitted as a manager in 2018 and principal in 2021. She is a member of the Firm’s Accounting & Auditing committee. Ms. Gunther earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and was licensed as a CPA in 1998. Ms. Gunther worked as a CPA at a regional Firm in Rockland County, New York for ten years working with family-owned businesses and high net worth individuals. Ms. Gunther’s specialties include accounting and auditing not-for-profit entities and closely held businesses, as well as taxation. Ms. Gunther is a member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs. Ms. Gunther resides in Gilbertsville, New York with her husband, Paul and daughter, Gabrielle on their hobby farm.
