It turns out that the pop isnโt that important.
The pop comes from gases being released in the joint during the adjustment. But regardless of a pop, joints move, and muscles relax after an adjustment!

Why do we evaluate the muscles and joints that arenโt in pain? ๐ค
For example, if you suffered a pulled hamstring, why would we evaluate your back as well?
The reason is that it is all connected! ๐งฉ
To expand on the hamstring example, it was found that those with a history of hamstring strain had increased stiffness in the muscles in the lower back.
If we only treat the hamstring and ignore the back, you might not fully recover when you return to your daily activities.

How long does it take for tendons to heal? โณ
A new study found that elbow, knee, and ankle tendon injuries usually last 3-4 months, and shoulder injuries typically take up to a year to fully recover without treatment.

Can chili peppers help with osteoarthritis? ๐ถ๏ธ
One treatment for osteoarthritis is using capsaicin, an ingredient found in peppers, which is thought to help mask joint pain when used correctly in creams and patches.
While chili peppers are great in your salsa, we don't generally recommend rubbing them on your skin!

Can you name all four rotator cuff muscles? ๐
The supraspinatus, the rotator cuff muscle located at the top of the shoulder, is this group's most commonly injured muscle.
Multiple changes can occur in the supraspinatus tendon, like acute inflammation leading to thickening or long-term overloading causing thinning.
But the good news is that exercise helps with both of these tendon issues! ๐
Oh, and the other three rotator cuff muscles are the infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis. Were you able to name all four?
