When it comes to developing good character, Primrose students have 12 special helpers. Through songs, stories, activities and more, teachers use the Primrose Friends to help children learn about positive character traits like generosity ❤️, courage 🦁 and cooperation 🤝.

The start of a new school year is always exciting, but little ones sometimes feel nervous about making the transition whether that be the prospect of a new classroom, new teachers or new friends. Try these tips to help build your child's confidence for the first day of school and beyond:​

👋 Wave Goodbye to Summer: Enjoy an end-of-summer picnic and a first day back at school breakfast with your family.​
​
🙂 Keep it Positive: Your attitude makes a huge difference when it comes to building excitement about the school year. Talk to your child about all the fun they'll have and how they'll get to see their school friends soon. ​
​
🍎 Practice Healthy Habits: Schedules tend to get off track in the summer, so it's important to reestablish your child's normal sleeping and eating schedules. The transition will be easier for both of you when your little one is well-rested and feeling good. ​
​
🗓️ Make a Paper Chain: Starting in the final days of summer, create a paper chain with every "link" representing one day. Have your child draw what happened that day on each link. When the first month of school is over, you'll have a fun memory craft to decorate with. ​
​
📚 Read Together: Reading books about heading back to school is a fun way to get your child excited while helping strengthen their early literacy skills. ​

In June, Primrose schools in Middle Tennessee hosted over 340 teachers for Professional Development Day! This event was full of learning, collaboration, team-building exercises and networking. ​

We're happy to support by providing them continuous opportunities to learn and grow. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this Professional Development Day to life, from schools and Franchise Owners to our guest speaker and the amazing teachers who help build a brighter future for every student.

Spring Fling has come to an end, and this year the Primrose community has raised more than $510,000 as children learned about the joy of giving without expectation. 🌸🎉​

Half of the funds raised will support local charities in Primrose school communities, and the other half support the Primrose Schools Children Foundation's mission to empower people, care for the planet and give back to communities through contributions to West Lakes Early Learning Center, No Kid Hungry®, Save the Children® and more.

Today is Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates Black history, equality and freedom in the United States. It's a day of remembrance, but also a day of joy and celebration for Black Americans. We honor and encourage families to join us in recognition of this important occasion!

Congratulations Mrs. Wendy! Mrs. Wendy is the Assistant Teacher in the Young Toddler classroom. Many of you may know her as she has been a part of our Primrose Family for over 10 years, having over 20 years of total child care experience! 🤩 Mrs. Wendy is a valuable asset to our Primrose family. She shows up each day with a smile, positive attitude & dedication to educating her students. To know her is to love her! ♥️ We absolutely love having her as a part of our team!

Meet the Lewis Family! Matt and Lydia have two beautiful children. Their son Matthew is currently enrolled in our Preschool Program. Their daughter, Sutherlin attends Second Grade at Inverness Elementary School. The Lewis Family have been apart of Primrose since August 2023.

Matthew’s favorite thing about Primrose is Ms. Twiggy and her hugs, lunch from Mrs. Mary and playing with Play-Doh & with his friends on the playground.

We asked Matt & Lydia what their favorite thing about Primrose is, there response was: “As parents, our favorite things about Primrose is the communication with families, safe & stimulating environment, experienced and caring staff, and focus on holistic child development, encompassing academics, social skills, and creativity. We also truly find value in the attitude of everyone at Primrose. We have never once walked in without a smile & kind greeting from all!”

Happy Retirement, Mrs. Mary!! It is with heavy hearts that we announce Mrs. Mary’s retirement. Mary has been a part of our Primrose family for 9 years! She has worn many hats here at our school, the main one being our Kitchen Manager! She has spent the last few years making yummy, yet nutritious meals for all our students & staff! Thank you, Mary for all that you have done! We LOVE you! ♥️

We are excited to honor AANHPI Heritage Month! This month is a celebration of the history, traditions and achievements of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. Students at Primrose schools enjoy books written by authors, like "Grandpa Across the Ocean" by Hyewon Yum, and folk songs from our Harmony and Heart® music collection like "Sakura" to learn about the importance of celebrating many cultures and backgrounds. Follow along this month for a chance to test your knowledge and share your cultural traditions!

Meet the Lambert Family! 💜 David and Lauren Lambert have a beautiful daughter named, Ava. Ava is enrolled in our Older Toddler Program. The Lamberts have been a part of our Primrose Family since August 2022, where Ava started in our Infant Program.

David is a Piano Technician and Salesman with Ellis Piano and Lambert Music Solutions. Lauren is a Graphic Designer for a shared mail advertising agency.

“As parents, one thing we love about Primrose is all of the teachers and staff are so friendly and attentive - they’re like family. Ava loves going to Primrose! She has a blast learning new things and playing with other kids in her class.”

Congratulations Ms. Ayonna! She is the Apple of our Eye for May! 🍏🌸 Ms. Ayonna is one of our Full-Time Support Teachers. She has a 2 year old daughter named Alivia. Ayonna has 2 years of Childcare Experience. As a Support Teacher, Ayonna enjoys having the flexibility to support each classroom & having the ability to build relationships with all of the students! We absolutely love having Ms. Ayonna a part of our Primrose Team!

Spring Fling is in full effect at Primrose schools. Students are learning the importance of giving back to their communities all while having fun at carnival themed events, water activities, family competitions and more. We’re excited to share the results of these fantastic fundraisers next month.

The health & safety of our students & staff are our top priority! We conduct monthly Fire, Tornado & Lockdown Drills to ensure the process goes smoothly.

We had so much fun celebrating Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day with a carnival theme! Primrose students develop a respect for the planet as they grow plants, learn about conservation and practice sustainability. Today, little ones worked together to reuse milk jugs as planters for their beans and flowers as well as invited parents and grandparents to help plant seeds in the Primrose Patch garden and more.

Happy Earth Day! 🌱 Our students took part in different activities like planting Tomato Plants & Marigolds! They had so much fun being hands-on, learning more about how to make our world a happier, healthier place to live! 🌎❤️
