Applications are now open for Individual Artist Career Opportunity Grants, Jazz Road Tours, and Accessibility Grants through September 3!

Individual Artist Career Opportunity Grants: Artists in AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, and TN can apply for up to $2,000 to take advantage of a milestone opportunity in their careers. Eligible projects must occur between January 1, 2025, and June 30, 2025.

Jazz Road Tours: Jazz artists nationwide, take your music on the road with grants up to $15,000! This cycle supports tours from January 1 to July 1, 2025. Don't miss the informational webinar on July 29, 2024, at 6pm ET. Register now!

Accessibility Grants: Organizations in our nine-state region can apply for up to $2,500 to make arts programs accessible to persons with disabilities. Projects must take place between October 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025.

Hooray for Harry Wood Top Billing Spotlight ! Janis Roeton (Claire de Lune) made her Wetumpka Depot debut in Something’s Rotten, as a tap-dancing Baroness and egg! She holds MA and BA degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington and served on adjunct faculties at UTA and Tarrant County Colleges. Twenty-two years as owner and operator of the Arlington Dance Academy, she was recognized as an Outstanding Texas Teacher of Dance by both Dupree and Tremaine Conventions and Competitions. As an actor and choreographer, Jan was very active in the North Texas live theater scene, most notably with Six Flags Show Productions, Casa Manana (Ft Worth) and Granbury Playhouse, and toured nationally as a female vocalist with the New Christy Minstrels, and many years later as Earth Mother in Menopause the Musical. Since moving to the River Region in 2019, Jan has also been featured in productions at Cloverdale Playhouse, Red Door Theater, Pike Road Theater Company and WOBT. Just announced! Introducing a new partnership among Disney on Broadway, Music Theatre International, and the Educational Theatre Association — the Disney on Broadway School of Excellence program.

This nationwide program will celebrate schools that display student-led engagement in theatrical disciplines such as stagecraft, theatrical design, choreography, direction, or performance. Middle and high schools that are selected will be granted free licenses to select Disney musicals to perform between Fall 2024 and December 2025.
