Thinking about all the hours of sleep I skipped out on when I had a newborn at home, opting to watch them sleep instead of napping. Worth it. (But for real, take that nap!)

When it comes to studio work, my style sways a bit *clean aesthetic* (as the youths say). For John’s 2 year portraits, I chose to keep background colors and props simple, classic. With framed prints for any client’s homes, I believe this aesthetic works the best year round.

The last few weeks of pregnancy are filled with a mix of emotions in anticipation of your life completely changing. It’s even more emotional when you have small children waiting to become big siblings; it’s those few weeks that are extra special to document. This one’s for the parents who are currently in the middle of bedtime routine. With sunset at 8pm, it can be doubly tricky to get those angels to bed. My kids are just a couple of years out of that phase, but believe me they’ve still got a ton of excuses to delay bedtime. I’m with you!
