We could really use some volunteers to help with an exciting event. Are you interested in helping students to prepare for the real world? Then this is the opportunity for you!
On Tuesday, May 21, Derby Middle School will be hosting the Amazing Shake. The Amazing Shake is an event that creates a lively and fun opportunity to teach our young people manners, discipline, respect, and how to conduct him or herself in a professional environment. The Amazing Shake is an exciting competition where leaders and role models from our school’s community will work together with our students to reinforce professional skills necessary for future success. Students will learn the mechanics of a proper handshake, eye contact, and other necessary soft skills that they will practice using in an obstacle course of case-scenario situations (“gauntlets”) staged around the Derby gymnasium.
We are in need of community members to serve as judges as the students move through the gauntlets on May 21 from 8:45 A.M. to 12:05 P.M. There will be a short tutorial meeting for judges beginning at 7:45 A.M. with coffee & bagels.
Please email [email protected] if you would like to be part of this fun event.
Final Meeting of the Year! This Thursday at 9:20am. Join us 💓
