We were so proud to sponsor food at tonight’s Divorce on the Beach opening night event! Especially proud of Sandi Eubank Gregory, who is Chair of the Alabama State Bar Family Law Section this year, and of all of our fantastic associates.

Our first race sponsorship: Pack 397’s Pinewood Derby! (Mostly Heather just feeds the driver.) Won a heat and placed 5th in the Webelos den!

Partner, Sandi Eubank Gregory, was invited to attend the Alabama State Bar Leadership Summit that was held today. We are so proud of her work as the Chair of the Family Law Section & love her love for continuing legal education. Fun fact: her favorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch!

We are closed today to honor a man of conviction and the enormous legacy left in his wake. May we all find ways to honor that legacy of not only hope but of sacrifice where necessary this and every day.

Many firms have a war room, but Robin Burrell understandably wasn’t thrilled about having such a room with her name on it. Of course, given Sandi Gregory’s very special relationship with an additional mentor in Sandra Storm, we felt we could make a fitting compromise. Judge Storm brought the thunder and lightning where necessary, winds of change wherever possible, and cleansing rain for growth in the lives of those who knew her. We hope to be and to honor that type of force too.

We talk a lot around the office about raising “baby lawyers” right, and about our own mentors who gave us both roots and wings. Today was a special day wherein we invited each of our most influential mentors to visit the conference rooms we named after them and to thank them in person for their significant contributions to our success. So cool to be name-dropping Ron Boyd, Marcus Jones, and Robin Burrell around here on a regular basis! ❤️

Thanks to all who donated — we were able to bring a plentiful haul of toys and toiletries to Legal Aid Society of Birmingham for their clients in foster care for Christmas!

Don’t threaten us with a tight deadline! We happen to know someone who is an expert in what boys are into and doesn’t mind picking out stuff for other kids! Delivery is Thursday but you can drop by with funds or additional toys, toiletries, etc., tomorrow and we’ll get them to our friends at Legal Aid Society of Birmingham for their clients in foster care!

Most of our elves are still working on emergency Christmas visitation issues and attempts to find peace on earth and good will toward coparents via final agreements before the new year, but we also just got word that this year’s haul for local foster kids is a bit low on gifts boys traditionally like. Those are due in a hurry — on Thursday! — but if you happen to be out tonight or tomorrow we’re happy to load any toiletries or other gifts you might want to add to our sleigh for delivery!

Wishing you serenity as we enter the heart of the holiday season and the fresh breath of the new year. Whatever your struggles — and of course for so many of our clients things are changing in big ways this year — we hope you’ll also have a hefty dose of merry and bright in the coming weeks.

About this time last year we gained a partner and a senior associate, and since then we’ve added a few more folks and we’re running out of room before the lease is even up! So grateful to see our vision unfolding and enjoy the expansion of our team — lots of gifts to appreciate in such a season. Happy holidays from all our folks!
