Doug Patton and Melissa Foster

🕺🏻 Doug Patton is the Vice President of Operations for Waynes Pest Control. He is passionate about growing men and women of character to be servant leaders full of integrity and courage who persevere in serving their communities. Doug has been married for 30 years to “the best wife ever,” Chris, and is the proud father of Justin and his wife Taylor, and his daughter, Emily, who attends Belmont University. Doug is an avid Dancing With the Stars watcher and an accomplished armchair judge. Though blessed with little to no rhythm, he believes he moves like Derek Hough and is looking forward to this challenge, but more than that, he is excited about investing in First Light and their ministry.

💃🏻 Melissa Foster began dancing and teaching as a student of Curt and Wendy Johnson. She is a DVIDA® certified dance instructor/choreographer. She has won numerous awards and received recognition as a showcase dancer at events such as Dance Like the Stars (of Tupelo, MS), Pell City’s Dancing With Our Stars, Dancing With the King, and Christmas in Dixie. However, this will be her first year competing in Dancing With the Stars of the Magic City. Melissa is a graduate of Faulkner University with a degree in Theater Performance. She enjoys using her expressions and talent to create a fun, friendly atmosphere to teach her youth, teen, adult, and senior students in both group classes and private lessons. The love of dance has allowed her to make new friends and express herself creatively. Sharing these dynamics with her students is Melissa’s passion.

I'm dancing in an event called Dancing with the Stars of the Magic City! This is a wonderful event featuring many local celebrities and professional dancers all donating their time to raise money to help a charity called First Light. First Light is a center for homeless women and children located in the heart of downtown Birmingham. They offer emergency shelter for homeless women and families 24 hours a day in the area in addition to meeting the basic needs of these women and children.

Every dollar you give goes to help these homeless women and children. In addition to the dancing, there's also a competition to see which couple can earn the most money for First Light. So, Doug (my partner) and I could really use your help to donate as well as spread the word about this event so that we can help raise as much funds for First Light as possible!
