“I See Me, Inc.” is a 501c3 whose mission is to dismantle the “School-to-Prison Pipeline” by increasing the literacy rates in children of color by engaging them in literature that reflects their culture and mirrors their image.
🥰 📚
I See Me, Inc. placed 1,200 books into the hands of children during the McDonald's Magic City Classic presented by Coca-Cola parade!!!! We take the work of dismantling the “School-to-Prison Pipeline” by increasing the literacy rates in children of color very seriously. The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) reports that students who are proficient in reading by the fourth grade are less likely to engage in criminal activity later in life. Literacy in early education is crucial for reducing future crime. Let’s change our community one book at a time!! Special thanks to the Midfield High School’ Gentlemen’ Club for lending a hand!!
“Any book worth banning is a book worth reading.” ―(Isaac Asimov) Use this week to become familiar with and read banned children’s books.
It’s Wednesday!!! Has your week been busy?? Don’t fret! Family reading time is a bonding experience for you and your little one. It is perfectly fine to YouTube a video of a read aloud. Here is Nathaniel Rutledge reading “Carson Chooses Forgiveness” written by Lauren & Tony Dungy. To access more read alouds by readers like Shakira Morning-Trice, Roy Wood, Jr. and Eunice Elliott, visit the videos on this page or www.iseemeinc.org. Happy Reading!! 🥰📚

Praying that we can open the world to children one book at a time!!
Parents….
“Let’s tune into reading!”
👂🏾
Reading aloud is the single most important activity parents can do to build knowledge for their children’s academic and life success. Have you started yet?? It's still not too late!
Day 4….🥰📚
🤔 Day 1…
