We cannot begin to thank everyone who came out last Saturday to celebrate all that has happened at our gym since we opened in 2009. Without you lovely people, things wouldn’t have been the same! We’ve still got loads going on at (be sure you’re following along to get all the latest info on events) and we’ve still got a few limited edition t-shirts at B2! Tomorrow night! Come out to celebrate your favorite downtown climbing gym! We’ve got the last set up, limited edition t-shirts, and food/beer to close down FAR! 6PM to party, 5PM to have a chat about the future of the gyms!

Friends, Birminghamians, climbers: this morning will be the last day our iconic door will open for normal operations. will continue to operate as one of the finest climbing and training centers in the country, and we cannot wait for what the future holds there! This Saturday, November 9th, we’ll celebrate together at First Avenue from 6-close, and if you’d like to come at 5PM, we’ll be having a discussion with those of you who would like to attend.

We love you all very much and are so thankful for all of your support over the years. Here’s to all the sends over the last 10 years and the many sends to come at B2! ❤️

As November 5th nears, we want to celebrate our favorite climbing gym with an awesome send off! On Saturday, November 9th from we’re going to have a party at FAR. We’ll have the last set of climbs, music, food, beer, and all your favorite gym members. So come join us as we say goodbye to First Avenue Rocks. The festivities start at 6pm. Join us at 5 for a open forum and other shenanigans.

To the climbing community of Birmingham,

Our loyal customers, our dedicated staff, our beloved community. After deep consideration it is my duty to inform you First Avenue Rocks, Birmingham’s climbing gym for more than 10 years, will open its doors for the last time on November 5th.

In the meantime, rest assured we will continue to meet all of your climbing needs at Birmingham Boulders. While B2 is already the most comprehensive training facility in the Southeast, we will now be focused on improving this experience for you. Look for more setting, more amenities, and more ways to connect with others in our climbing community.

Our 10th Anniversary celebration was a huge success thanks to everyone who came and to all our donors! We raised $1,100+ that evening for ! They ensure access to climbing areas all over the southeast! It was the perfect way to close out the summer of community nights!
