Our Move Out Teams are beautiful examples of seeing, loving, and serving others - and Elevate Detroit is no exception. Every Saturday they host a community BBQ where all people, regardless of circumstance, are welcomed and seen as the images of God they are.
For many of us, we see unhoused people from a distance and form our own ideas about who they are and what they need. It’s when we sit down, hear their stories, and become friends that we realize how much we have in common, and how many are unhoused because when tragedy struck, they didn’t have a support network like so many of us do.

It's not childish or naive to want to feel special - to be fully known and fully loved.
