Our Story

The 7th Project Association is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our signature program gives deserving students with high academic achievement and demonstrated financial need the opportunity to participate in a summer internship in the Washington, D.C. office of Congresswoman Terri Sewell. The 7th Project provides housing on a local college campus as well as a weekly stipend. The Congressional internship program has proven to be a monumental success having provided scholarships to 25 students over the past five years. Program alumni have gone on to graduate law school, participate in Teach for America, become student body President at their university, and have sown back into their communities in so many other ways.

In addition to Congressional internships, the 7th Project seeks to partner with community organizations to provide support funding for school supply drives, food drives, and other worthy causes and events that benefit the people of the 7th Congressional District.
