Our Field Service Team recently removed a motor and gearbox from a cooling tower at a regional medical center. Initially called to replace the motor, our team discovered that the fan gearbox was also locked up. We collaborated closely with the medical center to remove the gearbox and sent it to our Mobile Service Division for a rush repair. Next week, our team will return to the medical center to reinstall the repaired gearbox.

Our Field Service team just completed this job at a regional paper mill. We were able to demonstrate all of our capabilities including live reporting from the field. Our Field Service Team documents findings as they go and sends the final report to the customer before leaving the job site!

Jay Mobile was called out on a Saturday to a local power provider to troubleshoot why their Exciter Assembly was not working. Our team removed the Rotor Exciter Assembly and brought it back to our Mobile Service Division. Failure analysis showed “Lightning Damage” to the rotating windings. We rewound the Exciter Rotor and replaced the Phase Connector Ring with a new KATO Replacement Part. We also rebuilt the Diode Wheel with new parts. After complete, we reinstalled the Rotor Exciter on-site and did a test run.

Yesterday was a beautiful day to watch the eclipse and play some golf! Our team had a great time at the Auburn Pulp and Paper Foundation tournament - we even came in second place!

Another spring day brings yet another annual outage!

This 2000 hp synchronous chipper motor, located at a regional paper mill, undergoes thorough preventive maintenance each spring. The maintenance checklist encompasses all mechanical fit checks on shaft and sleeve bearings, as well as oil drainage and cleaning of the oil reservoir, with oil samples collected for evaluation. Disassembling the stator from the rotor enables the cryo cleaning of all electrical components. AC/DC drop tests are conducted on all rotor poles to ensure their strength, while MCE testing is carried out on the stator. Additionally, all RTDs are meticulously inspected to verify their resistance values. If your facility has synchronous machines of any size, Jay Industrial Repair would love the opportunity to help maintain them for you.

Our Field Service team quickly extracted this 2000 hp BFW pump motor, transported it to the repair shop for reconditioning - and then reinstalled the motor in just four days. Industrial Coil, Inc. was founded in 1982 by Paul Kemp, Doug Kemp and Ron Pittman. Industrial Coil is a family-owned and operated electric coil wholesaler. This location will add 12 employees to Precision Coil and Rotor’s workforce.

Jay Industrial Repair recently received a 5000 Hp, 1800 RPM medium voltage induction motor from one of our Regional Natural Gas customers. This project entailed a complete rewind. Our skilled Precision Coil & Rotor team crafted the medium voltage coils, while our winders at Jay Industrial quickly completed the rewind, setting a new record for turnaround time!
