This week was a busy week. When I sat down to read my Bible my mind got bombarded with an ever-growing to-do list. The desire to skip my time with God keeps tempting me with each reminder of what I have not done. Then, at the end of the day, I have not spent time with God. Those are the days I am not proud of, but I imagine that God is not looking at me with disappointment. Instead, He is offering me an extended hand, inviting me to come and spend time with Him. I believe He does this for all of us. Psalm 86:5 "For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you."

The Bible teaches that God loves us and that his love is divine and everlasting. Romans 8:32 "He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?" God's love is a gift, a life-giving, energizing force. This love was demonstrated in Jesus Christ: John 15:9 "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love". When we receive God's love, we are enabled through that love to love others. We all make mistakes, but God continues to extend His loving hand and allows us time to find our way back to Him.

Despite the long-term side effects of chemotherapy that I face and the ongoing preventive medication I take, I have learned to cope with difficulty concentrating and remembering what I read. Even if I fall short of reading my Bible daily, I find strength in God's unwavering support and love. Psalm 18:16 "He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters." Even through the most difficult times of my life, I found hope in Jesus. I found peace through my cancer journey and now post-cancer because I know God's words are true. Hebrews 13:5 "... be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Having faced cancer, I have been given additional opportunities to share God's promises, God's love, and tell people about our Savior Jesus. I am grateful that I did not miss the opportunity to spread the Good News even through the difficulty of cancer. Let's all take the opportunity to tell others about Jesus! Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
