Included in our fall schedule drop are two new formats. Engage + Align will center core and spine stability as well as include joint mobilization work. This class is open to all levels including those recovering from injury, dealing with chronic pain, or simply interested in understanding more about how their spine and core work to stabilize and move their bodies. Yin Flow is a beautiful combination of movement and longer held postures and stretches that will encourage the practitioner to integrate present moment awareness, breathwork, and awareness of their thoughts in a mindful way. This format is also all-levels and the perfect foundation for those looking to deepen their mindfulness practice.

Do you know we have a $49 intro offer? This is good one time per student. Fun fact - despite its name, if you are an existing student with The Collective and have never used the offer, you can do so at any time. If you are new to the studio, it is a wonderful way to explore class formats and teachers, but you are not required to use it right away. Often, practitioners wait and utilize this special when they have space in their schedule, in the colder months, or over breaks from work or school.

Jesi Joy is an amazing teacher and body worker! Trust us. We are thrilled she will be lending her talents and spirit to this space. More about Jesi Joy:

Jesi Joy is a lover of the natural world and universe. A devotional heart, Jesi approaches her practice from the center of it all: Love. Her offerings are soulful, transformative, intuitive and embodying. She sees her practice as a path to liberation and knows her life’s purpose is to be a conduit for Sprit. Jesi is a 500-hour RYT, with training from Nourishing Heart Yoga. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist, offering sessions from her healing home. Most importantly, Jesi is a mother to her young son, the light of her life. In her free time she loves being in water, gardening, herbalism, reading astrology birth charts and tarot, and holding space for ritual and ceremony. A practice with Jesi Joy emboldens deep loving connection to Spirit, Self, and others.

In this class series you will learn modern dance principles through movement combinations and guided improvisation. We will focus on using breath, strength, fluidity and gravity to move through space. This class is geared for the beginner but is open to all levels. Sign up for the full series or drop in when it fits for you. Classes are $15 and you can register on our website, on mindbody, or day of at the studio. Let’s dance!

Kate is a Bloomington local and Adjunct Faculty in Contemporary Dance at Indiana University. We’re excited for her to share her art with the BYC community!

Supportive props are a great tool to use when practicing asanas (physical postures!) as they can help us access different poses while also avoiding any potential strain or injury!
Props can give us the extra support we need to find the right balance between effort and ease in each pose.
They can also offer us the chance to explore and refine our alignment in a safe and comfortable way.
Using props in our practice is a way to help us create a sense of balance and harmony in our body and mind!
We always have props available for every class - consider grabbing a block, strap, bolster, or blanket the next time you’re in BYC!

Introducing Nikki Myers of Communities Rizing’s 200 Hour Hatha Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training Program in partnership with BYC.

Nikki Myers is an accomplished speaker, teacher, and practitioner. Nikki Myers is an MBA, C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Addictions Recovery Specialist, and Health Coach. Born from her personal struggle with addiction and work with countless students, Nikki is the founder of Y12SR, Yoga of 12-Step Recovery. Based on its theme the issues live in the tissues', Y12SR is a relapse prevention program that weaves the art & science of yoga with the practical tools of 12-step programs.

Master teachers Nikki Myers and Rolf Gates have combined their 60 years of yoga and meditation teaching and training experience and more than 50 years of long-term recovery to bring Communities Rizing - a direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values, and develop people’s capacity to contribute to creating a more joyful and equitable world.

Communities Rizing is for anyone looking to teach and/or deepen the study of philosophy and somatic practices of yoga as a tool in support of creating more health and well-being in ourselves and the world.
