I want to thank everyone who came to Peters service and celebration of life this past Saturday. It was a beautiful day and perfect honor for his life. He was with us. ❤️

A few hours and slammed. Covid times. Curbside! Loyal customers and the best vounteering staff. ❤️

One of my favorites of Peter during curbside for Covid regulations. He made it fun, he made us laugh and he took pride in everything. He put everyone else first and when the time came to sell and finally put himself first.. it was too late. He is grately missed. ❤️

As you all know we loved the history behind Shanty. Well here is more! ❤️ Peter and I were blessed to leave our footprints in such a history and leave a legacy also

For those of you that have not heard.. Peter laid his head down for his eternal rest on April 10th. He was the heart of Shant for 23yrs while he fought Leukemia, a stroke and Stage 4 Prostate Cancer and never complained about the pain. He made such an impact on all he met. He is missed, loved and will never be forgotten.

Four years ago Covid forced the hospitality industry to close for what was to be a few days..which we all know turned out to be much longer, it ended up to be a huge challenge to keep the doors open after that. But with loyal customers and the selfless volunteering of time from our fabulous staff we did curbside and shortened hours we kept it up. The memories of that night will always be cherished.

Most people knew about Peter’s struggle throughout the years with Cancer and a Stroke while still working and giving so many of us inspiration. Well Peter’s cancer is in stage 4. He is going thru chemo and radiation and just took his first steps in a week due to many lesions on his spine and liver. I am so proud of him. I debated about posting this update however our customers became family throughout those 23 yrs. And so many are asking for updates. We miss the bar and all of you but finally we can concentrate on his health. ❤️

Loved those special occasions when we closed for private gatherings. They met at Shanty, fell in love, held their grooms dinner/party there and they honored us by having it at Shanty.

6yrs ago we won Best Dive Bar in Minnesota! Such an honor. We couldn’t have done it without a fabulous staff and awesome customers. Being interviewed by WCCO was fun and a privilege! ❤️

Thank you for all of the years of support and love. Peter and I wish you the best in 2024.
