One of my goals when redecorating a home, is to find that special something that speaks to the homeowner. For instance, I had a client who had kept an old frame from her childhood home and many pieces of embroidery from the past. I combined them (refinishing the frame and adding a blue velvet background) to make a one of a kind, special to her, piece of art.
Another client had lived in Costa Rica, and had beautiful, colorful artwork that I framed and hung.
Here are a few examples of unique, one of a kind displays. What do you have hidden away that speaks to you? #
One more photo!
Touches of Christmas, all around the house!
Finished an art installation for a family that lived in Costa Rica for a number of years. They had some beautiful, colorful artwork, including these two masks. To give them more importance, we attached them to empty frames that we hung on the wall. What do you think?
A few graduation decorations. I’ve never worked with balloons before…don’t know that I want to again anytime soon!
Two examples of taking hidden keepsakes, and turning them into special artwork.
The framed crochet items were put into a frame that lost its mirror at some point. The frame was refinished and the crocheted items were mounted on navy velvet.
The second is the insert from a screen door from a clients childhood home. Metal was cut, cleaned and painted and fit into an old frame.
Here's a great example of Sherre Bowlby Designs redoing a piece of furniture. A beautiful table that was expertly refinished by Roger!
Here's an example of lightening a room up a bit by changing curtains.
Just wrapped up a whole house paint re-do. I love the new soothing colors thru-out the home.
Fireplace re-do! Covered a modern fireplace in grasscloth wallpaper. Totally lightens up the corner, and if they get tired of it, or want to change it out, it can be removed and will leave no residue.
A few Holiday decorations.
I've been looking for a while for something to hang over my dining room table. Found this on marketplace, painted it and hung it as a ceiling medallion.
When the leopard is tired, time for a change!
I love when a room comes together!
Finished a living room and kitchen project.
Made this sweet little tray out of a wooden plaque, a couple of k***s and some non-skid feet. Tomorrow, big installation where this tray will find it's new home. More pictures to come.
If you don't like the color of your picture frames... paint them! If you don't like the color of your picture mats...paint OR wallpaper then paint!
Finished this sunny, happy guest room!
Here is a sunroom redone with new paint color (a bold green) but the room is flooded with light, so can handle the color. Floating shelfs were added to display homeowner's beautiful needlepoint and a comfy, interesting room is born!
Here are some before and after pictures of a home where the homeowner loves the colors green and pink, florals, and needlepointing. Her home is filled with beautiful needlepoint pictures and pillows. The first task was picking wall colors, and then "shopping" within her home to create a warm, colorful and inviting place to enter.
Just finished this wreath to warm up a white kitchen.
Working on a wall arrangement for a client. Wanted texture and not a lot of color... I will post finished wall later. These are pieces combined to create a unique look.
I have not posted in a while... I've been busy helping clients LOVE their homes. Here is a sample photo, stay tuned more to come!
We just finished an installation of Playbills from NY plays. This couple lived in NYC and loved going to the theatre. We framed and hung these playbills for them, making this a one of a kind wall.
Have you decorated for Fall? Even though I am not entertaining this fall (because of COVID), I decorated because it makes me happy! I was also really inspired to make a lot of decorations this fall! Here are some pics from around the house. If you need help decorating your home for the holidays, please call me 603-479-7072, I'd love to help!
Wreaths aren't just for your door! I love to use wreaths on tables, in baskets and lazy susans. Here are a few examples.
Finished a front and back porch area. You don't need a lot of room to make a comfy seating area that reflects your unique style!
Coloring outside the lines... chip and dip set or bathroom organizer?
This was on a clients wall, I like it much better on their ceiling!
