Look who I bumped into 😄!

The Universe has a way of connecting us with just the right people at just the right time, if we are open to it and follow the trail of spiritual/energetic breadcrumbs it leaves for us.

Almost 2 years ago, I did a thing and became an Amazon best-selling author for a multi-author book I collaborated on about VBACs. I wrote the opening chapter, and there were a myriad of other VBAC Moms, ancillary providers, Doulas, etc. that contributed. I also provided artwork for the book with my photography. Bucket list item checked off!

I was blessed to have not 1 but 2 amazing local providers be willing to sit down with me and talk openly and honestly about VBACs. One was this guy, Dr. David Lubetkin , the OB/Medical Director of Boca Midwifery, with his approach to VBAC's in the hospital setting. The other was the wonderful Gelena Hinkley, LM & CPM and co-owner of our local birth center . (Gelena, I owe you a "formal picture" and delivery of a book too!)

It was awesome to get to sit with both of them separately and for all of us to share our own perspectives, respectfully and honestly. It is RARE to have the chance to sit and chat and talk shop with a birth provider....as evidenced by how long it took me to get him this book!!! ALMOST 2 YEARS! Us birth workers have INSANE schedules. Planning anything is quite a ridiculous task that often involves multiple reschedules.

How many birth providers do you know would happily take the time to do this? And share this knowledge to help further the VBAC climate in South Florida? I can speak for myself, as an "insider" even, and the answer is......maybe 2? LOL. Not many at all.

Moral of the story? Surround yourself with the right people, those that will lift you up, hear you out, cheer you on, and love them hard!
