Are you loving the Olympics as much as we are?

USA had their best finish in Cross Country Mountain Biking thanks to Haley Batten putting in the work on the S-Works bike earlier this week and clutching the Silver Medal!

Mountain Biking was first added to the Olympics in 1996 during the Atlanta Games. During that first year the Susan DeMattei landed on the podium with a bronze medal, but the USA didn't podium again until 2012 in London, a full 16 years later when Georgia Gould once again landed in third place to secure the Bronze for Team USA.

Now another 12 years later we find one of our fellow Americans on the podium again!

Way to go Haley Batten and USA Cycling!

Thank you so much for everyone who participated in the Bogus Basin Hill Climb this year! Yesterday was awesome, and we honestly lucked out on the weather, it may have been chilly up top but I'm sure it was better for the riders than the sweltering triple digit climbs of days past.

Huge thanks to all our volunteers for helping to direct traffic and making sure riders were fueled and hydrated at the aide stations.

Thank you to Ada County Highway District (ACHD) for working with us to make this event happen for a 54th year!

Do you think American Cycling is coming into a new era?

Boise has been home to serious cycling for a long time! Ever since Bob and Joyce noticed the lack of a professional shop back in the Late 60s and early 70s.

Since then, George's has helped establish Boise as one of the Cycling meccas in the Western U.S.

Whether it be the third oldest hill climb in the country, Bogus Basin Hill Climb that Bob and Joyce started in 1974 or Boise's own high speed, high stakes criterium that previous owner Mike Cooley got started 37 years ago, Boise Twilight Criterium. Or current owner Linda Lloyds' commitment to continuing support of these events and furthering support of youth teams as well as sponsoring the only Pro Team in the Treasure Valley, George's has and will continue to stand as a pillar of support for the cycling community here in Boise!

Then articles like this one come out and prove that this community is out here producing cyclists who are able to compete, and win at the highest level of the sport.

Is the Surge in American Cycling Talent Signaling the Emergence of a New Era? With standout performances from Matteo Jorgenson, Sepp Kuss, and Brandon McNulty, we examine the potential for a transformative period in U.S. cycling.

Boise Cycling is BOOMING. Here in Boise it's pretty clear that we LOVE bikes. From the roadies and gravel gang to endurbros and downhill demons, everyone can find an event to ride in their favorite discipline.

There are a few events that take the cake when it comes to engagement from outside the cycling community.

Boise Twilight Criterium is one of those events. For anyone who hasn't been to a professional Criterium race, you're missing out.

It's fast, dangerous, and a whole lot of fun. And we've got one of the best in the business.

This will be Boise's 37th Twilight Criterium, and we (George's) will once again be working the pit corner at 6th and Jefferson. So come by on Saturday June 29th and say hello!

(Also from 5pm-8pm you can pick up your number for Bogus Basin Hill Climb at our tent during Twilight!) The hill climb is the morning after Twilight on Sunday June 30th.

If you haven't registered for the 52nd Bogus Basin Hill Climb yet what have you been doing??

We've got our last training session this Saturday June, 15th at 10 am heading out from 3rd Street!

Don't miss your last shot to train with our pro team and get a feeling for the hill!

We're getting more than just a lead-out from the BPD this year.

ACHD has given us approval to close down one lane of traffic from 8am to 10am headed up Bogus Basin Road.

During this time, vehicles will be allowed uphill to reach trailheads and Bogus Basin Ski Area, but downhill travel will not be allowed.

This is also a rolling closure, so downhill travel will be open once the last rider has passed.

Once 10am arrives, the road will be fully open to traffic both lanes, but we will still have law enforcement support on the mountain until the last rider gets to the Simplot Base Lodge.

Riders: This means you too will not be allowed to head downhill until after 10am. But not to worry, we'll have waffles from Idaho Waffle Cross, Coffee from the Alchemist and we'll be streaming the TdF from a viewing tent. Oh, and you can cheer on all your fellow riders crossing the line to that point.

Anticipated times of last rider and locations:
Corrals Trailhead: 8:30am
Miller's Gulch: 8:35am
Lower Dry Creek: 9:00am
Upper Dry Creek: 9:10am
Hawkins Reserve: 9:45am
Boise National Forest Sign: 10am

Once 10am strikes, there will be a LEO vehicle leading back downhill to clear drivers back into the uphill lane if they haven't already. Please do not pass this vehicle for your own safety.
