The UI, Owyhee County Extension hosted a hands-on Sausage Making class tonight with one fantastic group of participants!

UI, Owyhee County Advanced Master Food Safety Advisors (AMFSA) had two great presentations for the February training. AMFSA Sharon Goff presented "Emergency Preparedness on a Budget" to get advisors thinking about ways to be ready when the unexpected occurs. Dr. Joy Waite-Cusic, Oregon State University's Statewide Specialist for Home Food Safety and Preservation, provided in-depth content on how easy it can be to make Bacon at home.

Another great group at the UI, Owyhee County Extension! Advanced Master Food Safety Advisors Cindy Tekus and Amy Carson planned a "sweet" Candy Making 101 class so participants would be Valentine's Day ready! David Carson made sure Fruity Pixie Sticks were part of the fun!

Garden to Fiesta was busy and fun at the UI, Owyhee County Extension last night! Participants learned the science of canning salsa and made their own. Then there was a Pico de Gallo and Mocktail Margarita demo provided by Advanced Master Food Safety Advisors Amy Carson and Cindy Tekus and samples. The class finished with corn tortilla making, a light dinner and air fryer churros with chocolate sauce for dessert!
