Members of our Spokane Valley and Northpointe teams recently spent the afternoon doing goat yoga at the beautiful Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary / Inland Northwest Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization. Their mission is to rescue homeless animals or animals in need and offer a place of refuge to peacefully live out their lives. All proceeds went towards the care and adoption fees of these wonderful animals.

There are many animals looking for their forever homes. All animals released from Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary are to be altered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, and provided with instructions regarding medical & nutritional needs.

What a great way to bond as a team and give back to animals in your community!

The Tigard practice's general dentist, Dr. Kriswandi, lead dental assistant, Angela, and lead dental hygienist, Amanda, participated in the 8th grade career day at Aloha Huber Park School. The team met with groups of students to talk about their careers at Willamette Dental. They discussed everything from what they thought they wanted to be when they were 8th graders and all the things that lead them to their current careers. The team also gave out hygiene kits to all participating students! Fun dental puppets were used to demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques for the students as well. Great job, team!

We're excited to introduce our lead Dental Hygienist at our Nampa office, Brittany! Brittany is passionate about her career in and out of the office. While she provides outstanding patient care and shows great leadership skills at work, outside of work she is on the Board of Directors for the IDHA, Idaho Dental Hygienists Association, as their president. We are so grateful for our incredible employees!

Members of our Puyallup team spent their Saturday planting fresh produce at the Mother Nature Farm that help supply food to the Emergency Food Network, an organization that supplies food to people in need in Pierce county. Great job team!

Today marks Juneteenth - This past weekend we proudly marched as we celebrated the freedom and liberation of the last enslaved people on June 19, 1865. Willamette Dental recognizes the importance of this holiday, and we acknowledge that there is still work that needs to be done today in the fight for equal rights for all.

Our Beaverton team rallied around one of their own at the Walk for ALS fundraiser in Vancouver, WA. Dental assistant, Brittany has been a primary caregiver for her mother, Melody, after her ALS diagnosis roughly two and a half years ago.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease with no cure and its origins are unknown. Advocacy and research groups like Walk Northwest provide fundraising opportunities for research to ultimately find a cure as well as provide a support network for affected families.

Incredible teamwork to support Brittany, Melody, and those affected by ALS! We invite you all to learn more about ALS Northwest and support where you can.

Each year, our Community Contributions Program holds a company challenge during National Volunteer Week for our teams to get out and volunteer for a chance to win $500 for their charity. This year was an especially difficult decision as we had so many wonderful submissions. Please help us congratulate our Springfield Specialty team! They participated in a 5K Walk for NAMI , the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and together spent over 25 hours and were able to raise $910 for their Lane County Chapter. NAMI is an organization dedicated to building better lives for millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Congratulations, Springfield Specialty team! Thank you for supporting such an important cause.

Our Beaverton team recently got together and assembled 155 art kits for Creations For Cures, an organization that bring art to children in hospitals for a creative outlet during a challenging time in their lives. The kits will be distributed to hospitals in Oregon and Washington. Great teamwork, Beaverton!

Creations for Cures always welcomes art supplies and they offer many wonderful volunteer opportunities, if you'd like to get involved, check them out!

Some of our leaders recently met in Eugene to sort books for BookFest! In Lane County, 60% of students aren't reading proficiently by the end of third grade, making them 4x as likely to drop out of high school. In response, United Way created BookFest, a county-wide effort to help young readers expand their home libraries, encourage reading over the summer, and ultimately improve reading scores.

They loved being involved in our community and supporting such a great cause!

The Willamette Dental P.R.I.D.E Group and Willamette Dental are celebrating Pride Month this June in solidarity with our LGBTQIA2S+ employees, patients, family, and friends. Pride Month honors the history of the LGBTQ rights movement, pays tribute to the struggles and triumphs of the past, and reinforces the ongoing fight for equality and acceptance.

Our Member Services team hosted a Diaper Drive at our Hillsboro Admin office where they collected lots of diapers along with other items in need to support With Love, Oregon! With Love is a non-profit organization that supports foster families by providing safe, clean, quality clothing and supplies for children ages 0-6 and runs on the generosity of volunteers and donors. Amazing work, team!

On Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country and freedom.

Willamette Dental recently made a $5,000 donation to Columbia Basin College Patient Care Fund. CBC students celebrated together at a recent hygiene career fair with recruiter, Danielle Prudden.

The CBC patient care fund provides necessary funds to cover the cost of non-surgical periodontal therapy (NSPT) that CBC Dental Hygiene students provide to those in need in their community. This service provides vital training to students while making a real and tangible difference in the lives of patients.

No two people have the same teeth, every single person's teeth are unique to them, even identical twins!

Our Salem offices joined forces to create 38 welcome boxes to donate to Every Child Oregon. Every Child Oregon is an organization that uplifts children and families inpacted by foster care. These boxes are given to children entering foster care in the hopes of bringing them some comfort during a very stressful time. We had a total of 37 team members join us for this amazing event!

We're excited to introduce another wonderful member of the Willamette Dental team! AJ is the Lead Dental Assistant at our Salem - Lancaster office and his team loves his initiative to improve workflow to give the best patient care they can!

Every year on May 21, UNESCO leads the celebration of World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. We celebrate the rich diversity in culture around the world, while urging that it is crucial to preserve the diversity of cultural expressions.

89% of all current conflicts worldwide take place in countries with low levels of intercultural dialogue. Strengthening intercultural discussion needs to be a top priority in order to create successful cooperation and maintain peace.

Our dentists were quite spoiled by their teams this week to celebrate our Dentist & Specialist Appreciation Week! These very deserved (and creative) celebrations are just a small way to say thank you for the amazing work our doctors do each day. Thank you!
