Lee Pesky Learning Center kicked off our Literacy Pods Summer Program in Vallivue last week. A special thank you to the and the Migrant Summer School Program for partnering with us this summer. LPLC is impacting the lives of 25 young learners this summer by strengthening each student's foundational literacy skills. Through LPLC's summer Literacy Pods Program, we are creating a pathway to learning for students to be successful and overcome obstacles to learning for the 2024-2025 school year.

Calling runners of all levels! Per tradition each fall, LPLC partners with New York City Roadrunners as part of their Charity Partner Program. As a charity partner, LPLC recruits 10 runners to join our Running for Learning Team combining fundraising with training and an opportunity to race in NYC's marathon! Join Lee Pesky Learning Center June 13th (6:30 - 8:30 pm), June 15th (9:00 - 11:00 am), or June 26th (6:30 - 8:30 pm) for our "Tips for a Successful Circle Time" webinar. This 2-hour training is designed to help early educators create a positive developmentally appropriate, engaging, and productive circle or group time for three-to five-year-olds. LPLC is thrilled to announce the launch or our latest course for Early Childhood Educators, titled "Building an Inclusive Early Childhood Environment." This course has three parts including emotional support, classroom organization, and instructional support. According to LPLC's professional Development Director, Courtney Painton, "This course provides an amazing opportunity for educators to gain a better understanding of the fundamentals needed to create a space where all children can thrive." LPLC has recently launched our newest asynchronous online course titled Understanding and Supporting Students with Dyslexia (6-12 Emphasis). This new course is focused on supporting educators serving students in 6th through 12th grade and meets the requirements for the Idaho Literacy Achievement Act and teacher recertification. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and understanding of dyslexia research and statistics along with screening and assessment tools.
