Legion Of Cygnus- Word from Galactic Interpol this week is that, though we have a state issued beer and wine license in hand, we must wait until next Tuesday when the next commissioners meeting takes place to receive our county license. So, we are without the ability to serve alcohol for a second weekend. Bureaucracy at its finest.

Due to these circumstances, our hours are adjusted as follows:

Tuesday 2/13: 6pm - 12am
Wednesday 2/14: 6pm - 12am
Thursday 2/15: 6pm - 12am
Friday 2/16: 2pm - 12am
Saturday 2/17: 2pm - 12am

⚠️Space People: We have been informed by galactic law enforcement that we are now not authorized to sell ANY form of alcohol at this time. [Spirits/Beer/Wine]. This is apparently due to an administrative barrier [The timing is curious - "Stinging" us on a Friday]. Despite our communication with the powers that be, opposed to warning or resolution, they left us with our hands tied.

However, we are doing what we can to expedite the process and will keep you informed on the status of our ability to serve you alcoholic beverages again.

Until this is resolved, we will be open serving non alcoholic options. You can still get your dose of nostalgia with arcade games, pinball, classic consoles, and choice music.

'We're at the final boss': Spacebar Arcade calls for change after losing liquor license lease The bar can now only serve beer, wine and canned cocktails. Owners are looking to change the state's liquor license quota system.

After leasing a liquor license from a 3rd party entity for under 1 year, the terms of the lease are now expired.

Spacebar Arcade has been in a battle with the powers that be to be granted a Continued Operations Facility liquor license, also known as a Historic Liquor License. The building Spacebar currently resides in, “The Valencia” has met the criteria to be issued a license ( Title 23 Chapter 9, Section 8 ) and yet... We are being refused a license.

There are other Continued Operations Facilities in downtown Boise that fall into very similar circumstances and have been granted this same license. We feel these actions are arbitrary and capricious in the moves to block the historic Valencia Building from obtaining this license and we are now unable to offer spirits to our guests until this situation is resolved. Beer, wine, and canned cocktails will still be available.

The Spacebar Crew hope their guests will understand, and will continue to support. As they find themselves in another difficult situation, we're going to need it.

Spacebar is extremely grateful for all the backing we have received over the years.

Additionally, if anyone has $300,000.00 they would like to burn on a liquor license for us, it would be greatly appreciated. 🙏 🍻❤️

These booths were built by one of our co-owners (Zack) with plush cushions hand crafted from our Captain's (Will) mother, Karen.

In addition to making this area of the bar more intimate, we've added console TV's!

While we operate the main console gaming area on a first come first serve basis, these will soon be available to schedule rentals via our website.

Devin and Jared make it down between 4PM-6PM to grab a Daily Ration as fuel to jam on Centipede, which happens to be one of the most competitive high score boards amongst our regulars. We always look forward to seeing their pup Riker (named after Commander Riker, from Star Trek) lounging around the arcade.
