Keeping American Families Together: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a new process designed to help certain noncitizen spouses who are married to US Citizens and their children become Permanent Residents without the risk of leaving the United States. This action will allow an estimated 500,000 foreign nationals and 50,000 children become eligible to obtain legal status in the United States. Eligible foreign nationals must be married to a US Citizen spouse as of 06/17/2024, resided in the US for 10 years or more and have no disqualifying crimes. Great news for undocumented foreign nationals as well as many DACA recipients. This action leads to a path, not only for foreign nationals to obtain valid status, but can eventually lead to citizenship. Call my office to determine eligibility!
