INTRODUCING: KILLSWITCH ENSKATE (Shoshone-Bannock)
I began my WFTDA roller derby journey in 2013, about a year after my son was born, thanks to the encouragement of one of my Native sisters, who later became my derby sister. Although I had always played sports in high school, I struggled as an adult to find an outlet that pushed me physically and helped me forge strong, lasting friendships. Roller derby changed all of that. I fell in love with the sport and its community, starting with a small league in Southeast Idaho called the Portneuf Valley Bruisers.

From there, I eagerly sought out derby clinics in neighboring states, crashed other leagues’ practices, and subbed in whenever needed. I loved learning from and connecting with new individuals in the skate community. Eventually, I moved to Boise, where I began—and continue to play for—Treasure Valley Roller Derby, a team that constantly challenges me and pushes me to grow.

I’m excited to be part of IRRD and hope to inspire other Natives to fall in love with this incredible sport, just as I have.

Come join Cookie Pusss and Miz Wafer for Bingo in the Basement! August 13th at 6pm in the Shrine Social Club Basement! 🎟

The rules are simple: Show up, pay some bingo, and have fun! There will be several rounds with different prizes for the winners! Cookie and Wafer will also keep things fun and sill as your hosts, and will also give you a show between rounds!

This even will be a fundraiser for Treasure Valley Roller Derby! Help us meet our $30,000 goal for 2024! Half way there! 🛼
