Tip #4: Avoid toxic drain cleaners.
Use a drain snake, or make your own fizzy drain cleaner with ½ cup of baking soda chased with ½ cup of vinegar.

• Free of fragrance
• Free of triclosan and quaternary ammonium compounds
• Certified by Green Seal or Ecologo**

**These certification programs include robust screening mechanisms based on scientific health and environmental standards. If you are looking for a sanitizing or disinfecting cleaning product, choose one certified by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Design for the Environment program.

Tip #2: Don’t use products that contain quaternary ammonium compounds, or “quats”.
These chemicals are associated with asthma, and reduced fertility and birth defects in animals.

Tip #1: Don’t use air fresheners and avoid scented cleaning or laundry products that don’t disclose their fragrance ingredients on the product label.
These products can trigger allergies and often contain suspected endocrine disruptors, such as phthalates and synthetic musks.
