Tomorrow is the kickoff of our favorite event of the year, alumni takeover!! 12 Former WASU DJs are coming to relive their glory days and play their own music.

We had a great time meeting lots of people, giving out some WASU swag, and running the race!

It’s Homecoming week Mountaineers!! Celebrate App State’s 2023 Homecoming “Nightmare Before Appmas” by tuning into 90.5 WASU FM.

Be on the lookout this week for all things WASU as we partake in all the Homecoming festivities. It all starts this afternoon with the Neerly Naked Mile. Be sure to stop by the WASU tent on Sanford Mall.

Also, be on the lookout for one of our favorite events of the year, Alumni Takeover! Tune into the station all day this Friday, October 27th to hear hours from 12 WASU Alumni. Keep an eye on the WASU social accounts for the full schedule.

Our staff had the opportunity to attend the 5th annual Founders Day celebration. This ceremony is for our founders and to commemorate the first day of classes in 1899 at Watauga Academy—- now known at Appalachian State University.

We had a great turn out to spin the wheel and win great prizes. Miss North Carolina, Karolyn Martin, even took a spin on our wheel.

Thank you again for the opportunity to enjoy this special day with you all!

The celebration for our 50th anniversary continues. The University Bookstore is carrying copies of our anniversary anthology.
