The spacious studio, which overlooks downtown Boone has hardwood maple floors and plenty of windows for natural light and passive solar heat. Please check neighborhoodyoga.net for class descriptions, class schedule, teacher's bios, directions, and rates.

“I’ve been learning about letting go. How to do it without my claws scratching the surfaces. I’ve been learning about wasting time and closing some doors, hoping to open more down the line” - Angie McMahon

The yogic principle of aparigraha teaches us about non-attachment … non possessiveness and non gripping. Our human nature often lends itself to gripping and attaching - to ideas, relationships, outcomes, expectations, control etc. - as a means of survival, or what our bodies/nervous system reads as survival. And thus, the practice of letting go, releasing, and loosening the grip is a life-long practice of learning trust and gentleness - easier said than done 😉 😅 - which is why it is so valuable to practice with community and intention. I know it has been for me. 🍃

Join Caroline Daniel in a ~letting go~ practicer\tonight at at 5:30 for our 4th Friday Q***r and Trans Yoga class! co hosted with

⭐️All people all bodies all levels welcome!
Donation based / no one turned away for lack of funds. Stay and hang after in .on.king cafe and meet some new friends 💖☕️🍻

Karen has been a Humble Warrior member for the past 8 months and has taken over 45 classes since last year. She also will be going through the Neighborhood Yoga teacher training this year. This is her yoga journey up till now...

"Over the past several months, I have worked to establish and maintain a regular practice of yoga and meditation. After going through a series of traumatic events, both in my personal and professional life, I found my way back to the mat.

My first yoga class back at Neighborhood helped to break open a guarded and injured heart and may have cried throughout the entire class. That evening, in that safe and sacred space, I was reminded of the power that yoga and meditation can have to heal and ground me.

I have been inspired by the intergenerational community at the studio. As a healthcare provider, I see and feel the positive impacts that regular practice can have on myself and others.

At this point in my practice, I hope to expand my understanding, deepen and reinforce my practice. I find a true community in the Sangha we have and continue to build together and strive to stay consistent with a healthy practice both on and off the mat."

Macy Kraslawsky RYT-200

"I teach and practice yoga from a place of joy, prioritizing opportunities for exploration and expression!

I began practicing yoga in 2018, completed my YTT at Asheville Yoga Center in 2022, and spent two months at Amritapuri ashram in 2023. These experiences and teachers have cultivated in me a sincere feeling of wellness that I hope to share with others.

A yoga practice provides such a unique opportunity to better understand the physical and emotional layers of the self. My style varies in physical intensity, but always challenges us to practice kindness and gratitude so that together we can learn how best to honor our selves."

It was such a joy to plug in to a community of yogis and teachers from all over the country this past weekend at the LOVE SHINE PLAY festival in Asheville. I had the opportunity to collaborate with my dear friend, musician, yogini, LunaRay in our workshop, Shakti Embodied. So honored to attend as both a student of yoga and a teacher this year. We even had some Boone Yogis participate in the gathering. So much inspiration when we come together like this! Here are just a few glimpses. Mark your calendars for next year!

Two updates to our schedule!

1) Alecia Jackson is coming on to teach our donation-based class at noon on Wednesdays. Alecia began practicing yoga in 1999 and completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2012 at Asheville Yoga Center and has been teaching yoga in Boone ever since. Her class offerings are a mix of energetic flow and quiet yin, with lessons from the Sutras blended into the practice.

2) Lauren Hayworth is back teaching Gentle Yoga 9:30 a.m. Thursday mornings. Lauren began her yoga journey in a sweaty, no-frills power vinyasa studio in a single-wide trailer in Tallahassee while studying music education at Florida State University. After college, she deepened her practice, spending several summers at Satchidananda Ashram in Yogaville, Virginia, where she completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2004.
