When we think of 'working out' we think: walking, running, lifting weights, etc. Just as important, is the time and effort we give to 'working out' our Mind. We know that complete Wellness means the integration of a healthy Body & Mind. To do our part, we are now introducing mindbyjen: an extension of JKOR Integrative Wellness's life coaching services. As of Monday, October 4, 2021, we will be launching a new Instagram and website where you can find support, inspiration, and exercises to 'work out your mind'. If your Mind Health is already top notch, that's great! However, we can all always use reminders and helpful tips & tricks to be mindful and to stay well (especially with the constant change and the daily hecticness of life). Each week, will be providing things to think about, affirmations & inspirations, as well as teaching moments & tools, all geared toward promoting a healthy Mindset. So please, join us on our new journey and let us help you on yours!

“What If.." is a defense mechanism we use all too often to hold us back from things that might make us uncomfortable: "What if I fail?" - "What if I embarrass myself?" - "What if I don't see results?"
Going into this new month, we challenge you to turn that around. Let's use our "What If's" to our advantage: "What if I succeed?" - "What if it brings me joy?" - "What if I get the results I want?"
There's always a way to use our thoughts and behaviors to better ourselves and our habits - and it starts with mindfulness and willingness.
So, what if you take on this challenge? - and what if you don't?

This is your mid-month reminder that it is still Mental Health Awareness Month—a month meant to bring awareness to the importance of finding mental wellness. While the path towards the balance for one’s mental health can be challenging, and sometimes even feel scary or messy, we’d like to bring light to the fact that this path can also be colorful, bright and hopeful. All too often we feel alone and get lost, forgetting just how commonly shared this struggle is. We often don’t realize this because what’s not common, is the conversation surrounding mental health in general. So, we’re here to not only encourage you to be kind, thoughtful and caring with your words and actions this month and every month, but also to not be afraid to have that conversation. Because we may never know if someone’s struggling unless we ask, and we may never find a balanced mental health for ourselves unless we speak about it.

Because it’s never good to keep things bottled up!
Sometimes we look to the weekend to "uncork" that bottle of wine to escape what's been "bottled up" from the week behind us. Instead, we encourage you to talk to someone about whatever has been flooding your mind's space. This weekend, talk to family or your best friend; write in your journal or even talk it out with your pet. Yes, you read that correctly--sometimes just saying the words out loud can lessen the power certain ideas or thoughts have over us. If we do not “uncork,” we may just “overflow”. So however you choose to do it, uncork and let the mind unwind.

Too often we accomplish a goal or task without truly acknowledging and appreciating what we’ve learned and how we’ve grown from it before deciding where to go next. While there’s always progress to be made, we should thank ourselves for getting to where we are in that moment. If not, we may lose sight of the reason for the progress at all. Honor where you are now, then take the next step.
