Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community

Come as you are and be welcomed! We celebrate and encourage one another in our individual spiritual journeys.

We welcome active faith seekers, in the liberal tradition of Unitarian Universalism, to improve our spiritual selves and our physical world. The diversity of our religious and cultural backgrounds unites and sustains us as we travel our paths. Women, men, and children; persons of any color, culture, age, ability, economic status, or sexual orientation; skeptics and those pursuing diverse religious paths – all are welcome to join us in this celebration.

Is anyone going to craft club tonight?

07/09/2024

Every year, our congregation provides 20 backpacks full of school supplies to families living in our Bordentown motels. In the interim of trying to find permanent housing, the last thing we want is to have our famililes worry about affording or buying school supplies for their children. Please consider donating a few items from the list below. You can drop off at our front porch (39 Park Street, Bordentown City) now until the August 4th deadline.

This week we celebrate Chalica. A uniquely Unitarian Universalist winter holiday. Chalica starts on the first Monday in December and runs for 7 days. On each of the seven days we light a candle to commemorate our Seven Principles.

1st Principle: The inherent worth and dignity of every person;

2nd Principle: Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;

3rd Principle: Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;

4th Principle: A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;

5th Principle: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;

6th Principle: The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;

7th Principle: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
