Hummer and Son Honey was started by the late Stanley F. Hummer and son, William S. Hummer, as a 4-H project in 1985. As the years went on, Stanley F.
Hummer built up the company and William Hummer went on to further his education. In 1996, William Hummer graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Science in Urban Pest Management and a minor in Entomology. It's the first day of the  and we are so happy to bee here for our 30th season!! Come see us and "get your honey on"! Farmers market nutrition program cards welcome… We are vendor number 1393! SNAP eligibile!
This will be our 30th year in attendance if we are accepted! This was the original market in the area, starting where Sci Port is now, to under the Texas Street Bridge and finally to our current home at the Festival Plaza in Downtown Shreveport.

The hot summer has produce a bit of honey to extract. Here we are unloading the honey from the flat bed.
The summer honey is being pulled now! The girls have done the best they can with the weather we experienced these past months.

It is Market time at the festival plaza for the Shreveport Farmers' Market. Come down before it gets to hot and grab some chili infused honey, a slab of comb honey, or just a little bear for those times you need a quick jolt of energy.
Honey flowing into the tanks to settle out. The wax and other impurities will float to the top of the vat. This allows us to bottle the honey with little straining to ensure you get the true taste of 100% pure Louisiana Honey!
