Beautiful Richard Bona record, “Reverence”.
Pre-Lake Street Dive if I’m not mistaken. “Blue sky Research”.
Not just one of my favorite Paul Bley records, but also one of my favorite ECM records. Everyone sounds great on this, and the production is just fantastic. I love Gary Peacock’s playing and his sound so much on this record! “In the Evenings out There”.
Nice duo performance- Paul Bley and Gary Peacock.
Really beautiful album. “Time Will Tell” from Paul Bley with great performances by Evan Parker and Barre Phillips. I think Masashi Harada recommended this one to me.
One of my favorite Paul Bley records. Some of my favorite Red Mitchell, John Abercrombie and Barry Altschul performances. “Live at Sweet Basil”.

Such an adventure! “Barrage” from Paul Bley has Marshall Allen, Eddie Gomez, Dewey Johnson and Milford Graves playing some of the outest versions of Carla Bley tunes, maybe ever.
Pete LaRoca sounds incredible on this great Paul Bley record! “Footloose”.
“The Fabulous Paul Bley Quintet” recorded live at The Hillcrest in LA in 1958. Cool record.
The Carla Bley Big Band “Goes to Church”. Holy Gary Valente, Batman! Wow.
If not, my actual favorite, Frank Zappa, record, then definitely my favorite period. This band is absolutely amazing. “Roxy & Elsewhere”. This pressing is the recent remaster, not the 70s original.
I absolutely love this album, “Musique Mecanique” by The Carla Bley Band. It might be my favorite album of hers. “Jesus Maria” is one of my favorite compositions of hers, although the Jimmy Giuffre 3 recording is possibly the more influential for me. Charlie Haden and Steve Swallow both sound incredible on this record too.
As if Stuff (the band) played Carla Bley’s classics. Love this record. Carla Bley, “Dinner Music”.
A bit of a “Jazz Messengers meets the Arkestra” hit. 3/5 Arkestra plus Art and Lee Morgan. Love Victor Sproles.
More swinging from art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. “Africaine” has Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter, aa Walter Bishop Jr and Jymie Merritt.
Swinging nights in Europe, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers in 1959. Wayne Shorter, Walter Bishop Jr, Lee Morgan and Jymie Merritt.
One cannot have the pop with the smoke. From my son’s collection- “Meet the Woo” by Pop Smoke.
It’s lit. From my son’s collection- “Astro World” by Travis Scott.
Awesome. My son’s record - we went to see J. Cole a couple years ago. Seriously awesome. J. Cole “The Off-Season”.
Awesome. Bob Marley “Kaya”
There are some fantastic themes on this record. “The Best of the Great Motion Picture Themes, Vol 5”.
Cool record. Nancy Wilson - “Today - My Way”.
Awesome lineup on this - Benny Carter, Buster Williams, Carol Kaye, Shelly Manne. Everyone sounds great. “The Sound of Nancy Wilson”.
Awesome. Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers - “A Night at Birdland, Vol 1”.
More killer arranging. “herb Alpert Presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil ‘66”.
Killer arranging. Sergio Mendes and Brasil ‘66 - “Look Around”.
Nice one. Ran Blake - “Horace is Blue”.
