Dominican Festival 2024

Members from Phoenix Protective Service and Top Notch Protective Services were on hand providing security for the stage area of the festival.

We are deeply saddened by the senseless acts of violence that occurred just outside the festival area in Franklin Park We wish those who were injured a speedy recovery. Our support is with Boston Police in seeking those responsible and brining them to justice.

To those who came to the festival we hope you enjoyed it, as it was a fun community event.

It is with great sadness that I must report the line of duty death of New Bedford Firefighter Matthew E. Forand. Preliminary information suggests that Matt suffered a medical emergency and passed away during the night while on duty at Fire Station 9.

On behalf of the New Bedford Fire Department and all our members, I want to express our most heartfelt condolences to Matt’s family and loved ones, especially his two children. I also want to pledge the Department’s support for them in a time of sadness. This is an unspeakable loss for them, for his brother and sister firefighters, and for our community.

Matt, 45 years old, completed the New Bedford Firefighting Academy in 2006. He was most recently assigned to Engine Co. 9 and was recognized repeatedly for his commitment to the residents of New Bedford. He received the Medal of Valor at the 2014 Firefighter of the Year Awards for rescuing an unconscious occupant from the second floor of a burning building on Dartmouth Street. He also received a Unit Citation as a member of Engine Co. 6 for his efforts battling the Royal Crown Apartment fire in March 2023.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our sister agency Top Notch Protective Service as they mourn the loss of a dedicated member of service, Sgt Rafael Ramos. Many PPS Officers worked with Sgt Ramos at community events and knew how passionate he was to serve the communities he was hired to protect.

Western District

Chief Penkethman was on patrol tonight and interacted with a tourist family from China who were taking in the sights of our client property in downtown Boston. After taking a family picture, the family asked if they can take a picture with the Chief. Welcome to the City of Boston, stay warm, have fun and enjoy your stay in our wonderful city.

As we prepare for the seasons first snow storm, our agency would like to remind everyone to shovel out their neighborhoods fire hydrants.

Car 950 has officially been put into service. After outfitting this patrol vehicle and stocking it with the proper life saving and emergency equipment it is ready to serve our clients. Each Patrol Vehicle in our fleet is required to have certain life saving and emergency equipment readily available to our Patrol staff.

This evening while going from one site to the next our Chief came upon a vehicle on fire on the middle of a busy highway in Massachusetts. Our Chief jumped into action, attempted to extinguisher the fire, and got the vehicle off to the side of the road after it unexpectedly started to.move. Thankfully no injuries to the occupants.

Chief Penkethman along with other members of Phoenix Protective Service attended today's Boston Police Graduation Ceremony to congratulate a close friend of ours at PPS who crossed the stage to become one of Bostons Finest. Phoenix Protective Service would like to congratulate Class 63-23 on their accomplishment on completing the police academy and joining the ranks of Boston Police, the best Police agency in the country.

With our Car 2 being put into service, our 2nd Medic Bag has been put into service. As each Patrol Vehicle will be equipped with Basic First Aid, Fire Safety and Rescue equipment to better serve our clients in any situation.

We are seeking a qualified Patrolman - Armed for a cannabis facility.
Position 1 - Monday thru Friday 3pm to 11pm
Position 2 - Saturday, Sunday 3pm to 11pm
Candidates must have LTC Unrestricted with at least 3 years of law enforcement, security, military experience. Additional gear such as Baton, Handcuffs, and OC Spray will be issued upon successfully completing training program.

International Overdose Awarness Day

Phoenix Protective Service is seeking qualified candidates for open Patrol Officer positions in our Central District. Patrol Officers will conduct patrols on foot and in marked Patrol vehicles of client properties. Officers will provide a high level of protection service to our clients and their communities through community policing and community engagement.
Candidates must have security experience of at least 2 years in a high pace environment. Those with MPTC Reserve Police Academy certification are highly encouraged to apply.
