"It's the most wonderful time of the year!" That certainly was the sentiment as we came together on December 12th to celebrate our fellows, consultants, and board members at ESC's Annual Celebration of Service. While the event is designed to show appreciation and gratitude for all who give their time and talent to ESC, several special awards were presented. Congratulations to Patty Hurley who received the Ezra Merrill Founder’s Award for her exceptional contribution to ESC and the nonprofit community; Scott Smith, recipient of the Caleb Loring, Jr. Award for Consulting Excellence; Michael Phelan and Susan Stendahl who were co-recipients of the Bethany B. Kendall Award for Fellowship Excellence; and Steve Hurley who received the Edmund V. Marshall Outstanding Project of the Year award.

Calling all nonprofit leaders. Please join us for a free strategic planning readiness workshop on March 29th from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m.
When is the right time to start a strategic planning process? The answer can vary based on your nonprofit’s priorities, staffing and leadership. In reality, there is no perfect or ideal time and a common pitfall is to hold off on strategic planning until you have the time and resources to undertake the process effectively. But a comprehensive strategic plan can prove critical to your nonprofit’s success, providing a blueprint for your organization to accomplish its goals. In this workshop, you will learn how to get your nonprofit ready for strategic planning.
Do you want to make a difference and help support the nonprofit sector across New England? ESC is seeking a highly organized and technically savvy Program Manager to join our small, collaborative team working to support nonprofit organizations throughout New England. Despite the blazing heat last week, we had a great meet up outside of the Charles Hotel in Cambridge. Consultants, board members, staff and fellows discussed project updates and learnings, what coaching is and why clients request coaching, and everyone shared a bit about their time and experience with ESC. Effectively and consistently communicating your cause – throughout the calendar year – is critical to your fundraising outcomes. This workshop will give you a better understanding, along with tips and tools, to improve the outcomes that matter to your budget and your donors. Join us for this free workshop on Wednesday, September 15th from 11am to noon. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/is-your-annual-giving-program-just-a-one-time-act-tickets-164334608237
