Bottom Line and The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) welcomed their first cohort of Generational Health Scholars! The BPHC’s established this scholarship in partnership with Bottom Line as part of their mission to work to protect and promote the health and well-being of all Boston residents, especially those impacted by racism and systemic inequities. This scholarship plays a vital roll in enabling our students to pursue and persist in the Healthcare and STEM fields.
During this time, students learned about the Boston Public Health Commission's mission and reflected on what public health means. Students also built relationships with one another as they transition from high school to college.
Students, we are confident in your ability to flourish in college, and we look forward to supporting you as you chart your future! 👏🏿 👏🏻 👏 👏🏾 👏🏼 👏🏽
Bottom Line Massachusetts is pleased to announce we've received a $500,000 award from the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) to manage the new Generational Health Scholarship. This needs-based program supports Boston-area students pursuing careers in STEM, public health, healthcare, and behavioral health. Thank you, BPHC for your partnership!
Carlos Perrett, Bottom Line Massachusetts' Managing Director of Development, said "Bottom Line is honored to be selected as a partner for this critical program from Boston Public Health Commission. To our colleagues and friends in the college advising space, navigating the FAFSA process can feel overwhelming, daunting, or downright confusing this year for students as well as all of us. Three key tips from Bottom Line to help us during FAFSA Week of Action:
1. Explore and Experiment: There's no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to FAFSA and that’s especially true this year. As you face operational and processing challenges, try different approaches and tech solutions.
2. Share Best Practices: As you try different solutions, share best practices with other advisors. If you see something that works, say something!
3. Persistence Pays Off: Be persistent in your efforts and they will pay off as we partner with students during this crucial time.
Our advisors are dedicated to guiding students through the FAFSA journey. If you know a Bottom Line student let them know about our FAFSA Week of Action Efforts to and !
