Our Story
The Catalyst Center is a national center dedicated to improving health care insurance and financing for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN). Our goals are to promote universal, continuous, and affordable coverage for all CYSHCN; close benefit and financing gaps; promote payment for additional services; and build sustainable capacity to promote financing of care.
Our applied research is the first to identify best practices in state strategies to finance care for children with special health care needs. State policy makers, family leaders, and others rely on our webinars, tutorials, and other materials to stay current on health policy and practice that can help address inequities in health care financing among children with special health care needs
We are funded by the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Health Resources and Services Administration, US Department of Health and Human Services. Our primary offices are located within the Center for Innovation in Social Work & Health at the Boston University School of Social Work.
