Travel. Wander. Heal.
“Okay” is subjective, but being patient with yourself should not be. This past year or two, I’ve really internalized the value of holding space- times where you don’t need to converse about anything, just being present for someone + vice versa. I learned just how far I’m willing to go to show up for somebody, to be present not in a “here I am, take it or leave it” way, but rather a “here we are, and now we grow”. But I’ve also realized that sometimes, someone can only reciprocate and show up for somebody as much as they show up for themselves. Some people need a “bad guy”, so let them. Their narrative is not your own, but your healing is. Kickstarting healing with presence and intention. I am too full of love than to act out of spite. Just as you earn respect from others, yours is earned through self-care. And when self-care shows up in the form of discipline, it can feel soul-crushing. It doesn’t mean it’s not necessary. How can you expect someone to receive love when you’re pouring it from an empty cup? I’ve loved myself harder in the last year than ever, and I intend to keep that momentum going. I don’t know better, but I’m learning. I don’t know better, but I’m trying my best. Nobody asked you to have all the answers, so treat yourself with grace.
