King's Chapel
The official page of the parish community of King's Chapel in Boston. The stone building, made of Quincy granite, was opened in 1754.
King's Chapel was organized as an Anglican congregation at a meeting in Boston's Town House, the city hall of the day, on June 15, 1686. Its first house of worship was a small wooden meeting house at the corner of Tremont and School Streets, where the church stands today, that was dedicated on June 30, 1689. Peter Sulski is back today for the next program in his series of 24 recitals. On the docket today is Telemann’s Fantasia no. 3 and Bach’s Suite no. 3, both played on violin. For comparison, below is the viola edition of that program from 2022.

In preparation for the Lenten season, King’s Chapel parents and children made pancakes at last Sunday’s Annual Shrove Sunday Pancake Breakfast. Afterwards, Assistant Minister Sam Holland oversaw the burning of palms, saved from last year’s Palm Sunday service. The ashes will be distributed at tomorrow’s Ash Wednesday service, to be held at 12:15pm at 58 Tremont Street in Boston.
Although we are not yet seeing any evidence of all the snow that was in the forecast, between the various closures and transportation complications for our performers, we have decided to postpone today’s recital while we wait for better weather.

Join us for our Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, February 14th, 12:15pm at 58 Tremont Street in Boston. We will also offer ashes "to go" in front of the church before and after the service.
