TRANSCRIPT: Well, I’m a writer, I like to explore and expand my skills, so I’m really looking forward to hearing some poems tonight. It’s just really important to celebrate literature and celebrate. Contests like which are really short form is a form a lot of people don’t know about, so it’s very close to my heart. I have never been super drawn to it, but I might be hooked on this. This is a lot of fun. I mean, I’m a huge fan of both of their works, and it was a really fantastic talk. Seeing this many people excited for literature? So deeply exciting for me. There were so many great stories and storytellers here today, it’s such a great community building exercise. It was so fun. I enjoyed the process of illustrating and the two sides of it–of being an artist and being an author too. It’s just been a pleasure! This is my first event, so I’m looking forward to seeing what I’m going to check out next. There were so many amazing things we could have done, it was quite difficult to decide. It’s amazing what you can do with 100 words!
