We as a club try our best each year to keep a junior and senior team running; to keep hurling alive in the Boston Northeast Gaa. If you are involved with a club you will know this is no easy feat.
Last Sunday we played the Junior A semi-final. Prior to this game, our club chairman reached out to the Northeast Boston GAA chairman & discussed away based players & was guaranteed that the rules would be adhered to.
In a later conversation, chairman of the Boston north east GAA stated “Offaly can field whatever team they have, we need to keep Offaly hurling Alive. If you get beaten in the game you can object but it will be thrown in the bin”.
We did get beaten, and we did appeal but again, the integrity of the USGAA and Boston Northeast GAA leaves a lot to be Desired — it was eventually thrown in the bin!
Below are the results from the CCC in Boston which show that Offaly also played unregistered, uninsured players (including a player listed on their team sheet who actually won a game in Chicago GAA with Padraig Pearse the same day!!)
We are very disheartened as a club with this outcome, despite our best efforts all year (and in previous years) to keep the hurling scene active in Boston.

6-30pm this evening,all support welcome!!
What can we say about this man and his family.. Its a miracle Ciarán is still with us today!
His family have been through so much over the last 6 months - a husband, father, friend, Ciarán would do anything for anyone.
He has helped so many people since he came to this country; started out as a player with the Fr.Tom’s, then manager of our juniors, manager of of Seniors, chairman of our club.. his last position was assistant treasurer in 2021.
You name it he has done it!!
When we were short numbers last year for the North American finals he didn’t have to be asked twice - as he would say himself he “pegged Ann the boots”😂
Unfortunately, everything changed for Ciarán when he went for a simple night out with his wife and family. Now is our chance to help them out… so many of you that read this will have crossed paths with Ciarán: weather hurling with him,or against him, he might even have been the reason you came to America.
We are asking all of our past and present players, members, & friends to please share this post.
Let’s help Ciarán & Shauna and their 3 beautiful children on this long road ahead.
If you can’t donate please just share this - every little helps!!
Please continue to pray for The Moore’s and keep the family in ur thoughts as you go about your day.
Thank you to everyone that has already helped and thank you to everybody in advance 🙏🙏
Camán Ciarán, organized by Friends Of Ciarán The letters TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) didn’t mean much to the Moore family in 2021, but by 27th Dec… Friends Of Ciarán needs your support for Camán Ciarán
