Christmas in July at the Proton Center!
Inspired by a patient who loves holidays, the Mass General Cancer Center and Mass General for Children Proton Center staff transformed the Proton Center into a festive wonderland! From candy canes and snowflakes to Christmas trees and gifts, the center was brimming with holiday cheer this July. Each pediatric patient received a stocking or Christmas bag filled with presents and crafts. Staff and patients dressed up, creating a joyful, unforgettable celebration.

Mass General Brigham mobilized incident command and other leadership teams across the organization to manage our response to the CrowdStrike incident. We have deployed hundreds of technicians to our hospitals, healthcare centers, and outpatient clinics to restore access to the systems and devices that were impacted by the software failure early this morning.
We are doing everything possible to restore the electronic systems that support our patient care delivery across our system. Our teams will continue to work throughout the night to implement solutions and, at this time, we expect to be operational tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused to the many patients who had scheduled visits with us today.

A major worldwide software outage has affected many of our systems at Mass General Brigham, as well as many major businesses across the country. Due to the severity of this issue, all previously scheduled non-urgent surgeries, procedures, and medical visits are cancelled today.
Mass General Brigham remains open to provide care to patients with urgent health concerns in our clinics and emergency departments, and we continue to care for all patients currently receiving care in our hospitals.

A group of Mass General for Children (MGfC) parents and providers presented a Pediatric Grand Rounds titled “Reimagining How We Partner with Families Through the Ether Dome Challenge”. The group has worked together for over a year to develop two important projects. The first is a discharge template, to be completed by providers and parents together, while the second is a resource app that will enable families to access MGfC information all in one location.
